
Patriot.by is a Republican competition of computer developments. It has been held in the Republic of Belarus since 2010 and has become traditional.
This year, the final stage of the competition welcomed creative and skilled guys aged 12-21 from all Belarusian oblasts and Minsk city.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Education and National Children’s Technopark is responsible for preparation and conduct of the event.
The main purposes are to form among children and youth an objective attitude towards the historical past of the country, to intensify the activities of institutions of additional education for children and youth of a technical profile to instill citizenship and patriotism in the younger generation, to increase the scientific potential of Belarus through attracting students to innovative activities, technical creativity, modern computer technologies.
The team consists of 9 people.
During the competition participants present creative projects, business and service computer developments, computer games, products with elements of multimedia, computer graphics and animation that reveal the historical events of the heroic past of the Belarusian people, as well as computer products that reveal the importance of cooperation and peaceful relations between people and nations, developing such qualities as the desire for peace, justice, tolerance and mutual respect.
The final stage includes presentation and defense of creative computer developments independently completed by young participants in the competition in the following categories: “Coding Harmony”, contestants present computer developments created in programming languages (4 participants per team, of which: 2 participants in the age group 12 - 15 years and 2 participants in the age group 16 years - 21 years); “Digital Creator” – websites are submitted for the competition (2 participants per team aged 14 to 21); “Innovations for the Future” – presentations developed in PowerPoint or other software with elements of computer graphics, multimedia, animation (2 participants per team, aged 12 to 15 years).
The competent jury pays attention to the compliance of creative computer developments with civil-patriotic themes, moral, ethical and aesthetic culture, norms and rules of language grammar.
It is noted that a computer product can be written using any available software, and each participant submits only one computer development to the final stage of the competition and only in one nomination.
Currently, a defense of computer developments is taking place via video conference.
Winners and runners-up in the individual championship receive diplomas and memorable prizes from the Ministry of Education.
Note: by participating in the PATRIOT.by competition, children receive a unique opportunity to increase their own level of professional competence in the computer technology industry.
