Every young person in our country has the opportunity to get a start in life studying at a quality level. - Andrei Ivanets noted during information and educational project "Open Knowledge" on the topic "Belarus. Takeoff time" held in the atrium of the shopping center "Stolitsa".
"Today we can confidently say that in our country over 30 years of independence, a powerful education system has been established at all levels. Almost 100% of children study at preschool level, but 30 years ago this figure did not exceed 50%. Almost every second child of preschool age was deprived of the opportunity to attend kindergarten, staying at home," the Minister of Education noted.
He also emphasized that today in Belarus, children with special educational needs are provided with high-quality and accessible education.
"They have the opportunity to study in integrated classes. Special care today is directed towards those children who are left without parental care: about 90% of them are in family forms of care. This once again emphasizes that in our country a happy childhood has a family," said Andrey Ivanets.
According to the Minister of Education, the quality of professional, higher education is confirmed by the fact that, for example, BSU is among the 1% of the best universities in the world.
Andrey Ivanets shared that 30 years ago, despite the difficulties, he personally could feel the spirit of the new time.
"Remembering those years, you understand that today we live in a completely different country. What is important is that we were able to preserve the Soviet legacy and take a big step forward. Our country is seen, heard, respected, and we are active participants in the formation of political processes on the international agenda, and, first of all, thanks to the position of our President, our leader Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko," he noted.
