From May 13 to May 16, 2023, the final of the V Republican competition of professional skills "ProfSkills Belarus 2023" will take place among young workers, specialists and students receiving vocational, secondary specialized and higher education. More than 300 contestants will demonstrate their skills in 49 competencies (professions) in the field of construction, manufacturing, engineering, information and communication technologies, transport and logistics, social and personal services, creative professions and fashion.
The list of competencies to be present at the Football Arena of “Manege” LLC is 42. Seven competencies will be distributed at the following venues:
1. Educational institution "Belarusian State Academy of Communications" – takes "Information Cable Networks";
2. Branch of the "Republican Institute of Vocational Education" - “Minsk State Automotive College named after Academician M.S. Vysotsky" – takes "Body Repair";
3. Educational institution "Gomel State Automotive College" – takes "Turning work on machine tools with program control", "Milling work on machine tools with program control";
4. Educational institution "Slutsk State College" - takes "Culinary Art", "Restaurant Service", "Bread Bakery".
More than 340 experts from among the teaching staff and specialists of enterprises will assume the role of judges.
Within the framework of the republican contest, competitive events were organized for people with disabilities in seven Inclusion Skills competencies: “Fashion Technology”, “Web Design and Development”, “Graphic Design”, “System Administration”, “Painting and Decorative Work”, “Green building worker” and “Vegetable grower”.
As part of the business program of the competition, on May 15, 2023, 3 dialogue platforms will operate in the conference halls of the Football Arena on the following topics:
1. “New mechanisms of interaction between business and education”;
2. “Educational Space: New Challenges and Development Priorities”;
3. “Digitalization of the vocational education system”.
Recall that holding competitions on such a scale has become a tradition since 2014. Participants are young people under the age of 22 (for some competencies - up to 24 years) and juniors aged 10 to 17 years.

Chronology of participation of the republic in "WorldSkills":
May 2014 - First Republican competition of professional skills "WorldSkills Belarus 2014". 150 participants from among young workers (employees) and specialists, young students joined the event;
May 2015 – participation of the national team in the First Professional Skills Championship “WorldSkills CIS” (Kazan, Russian Federation). 22 contestants from the Republic of Belarus competed in 17 competencies, taking home 1 gold and 16 silver medals;
August 2015 - the national team of the country took part in the 43rd International Championship "WorldSkills Competition 2015" (Sao Paulo, Brazil). 17 Belarusian participants competed in 15 competencies and took the 36th team place among 59 countries. Two participants won medals for top skill;
May 2016 - ISecond Republican competition of professional skills "WorldSkills Belarus 2016". More than 200 participants competed in 33 competencies. The competition was attended by representatives of Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Finland, Switzerland, South Korea;
May 2017 – the Republican team took part in the Championship of the EAEU Member States as part of the Final V of the National Championship “Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia)” (Krasnodar, Russian Federation). The Belarusian team of 35 contestants took part in competitions in 29 competencies, winning 2 gold, 21 silver and 6 bronze medals;
June 2017 - the national team of the republic took part in the open Championship "China International Skills Competition 2017" (Shanghai and Suzhou, China), Taking home bronze and silver, as well as 2 medals for the highest skill;
October 2017 - the national team of the country took part in the 44th international championship "WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017" (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates). This time 29 contestants in 27 competencies. The team claimed 2 medals. In the team rating among 59 participating countries, the republic finished 16th;
May 2018 - Third Republican competition of professional skills "WorldSkills Belarus 2018". More than 300 pupils, students and young workers competed in 37 competencies;
August 2019 - the national team of the country took part in the 45th international championship "WorldSkills Kazan 2019" (Kazan, Russian Federation). Representatives of the Republic of Belarus competed in 30 competencies from the main list of WorldSkills International competitions and 3 competencies from the FutureSkills list - skills of the future. In the team event, the Belarusian team finished 15th out of 63 countries, having won 1 silver medal and 4 medals for higher professional skills;
September 2020 - Fourth Republican competition of professional skills "WorldSkills Belarus 2020". More than 330 pupils, students and young workers competed in 42 competencies;
May-June 2022 - The national team of the Republic of Belarus took part in the II international competition of professional skills "Masters of the Silk Road". In the end, Belarusians won two special prizes, that was online internship in China, as well as reached 7 first places, 6 second places, 5 third places;
August 2022 - the national team of the country took part in the Distributed Eurasian Championship 2022 (Moscow, Russian Federation). As a result of the championship, the Belarusians won 1 gold and 1 bronze medal;
September 2022 - the national team of the country took part in the Distributed Eurasian Championship 2022 (Saransk, Republic of Mordovia). The team won 3 gold, 13 silver, 4 bronze medals;
November 2022 - the national team of the country took part in the Championship of high-tech industries (Hi-Tech) 2022. The team won 4 silver and 1 bronze medals.
