Within the framework of the Days of Belarusian Education, which are taking place these days in Vietnam, the Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets met with the Minister of Education and Training of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Kim Son.

The parties stressed the importance of the visit of the Belarusian delegation for the development of Belarusian-Vietnamese relations in the field of science and education. The success of yesterday's events was noted, in particular, the signing of 10 new agreements between universities.

The Vietnamese side thanked Belarusian one for the quality training of Vietnamese citizens in our country.

The program of cooperation between the ministries of the two countries, which provides for the expansion of the legal framework of the Belarusian-Vietnamese cooperation in the field of education, the implementation of joint projects and programs, has been submitted to the Vietnamese side for consideration.

The priority areas of Belarusian-Vietnamese cooperation in the field of education are:

1. Development of the legal framework between educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

2. Development of joint scientific, scientific and technical, innovative projects (including within the framework of the BRFFR-VANT joint scientific project competitions) in a wide range of areas of mutual interest, primarily in the field of chemistry, physics, information and communication technologies;

3. Organization of short-term and long-term Russian language courses for citizens of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, including in a remote format;

4. Organization of annual summer (June-August) and winter (January-February) schools on the basis of Belarusian educational institutions;

5. Training of personnel from among the citizens of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the specialties of all levels of education (in English and Russian);

6. Promotion of academic mobility of students and representatives of the teaching staff of educational institutions of Belarus and Vietnam, as well as the preparation of joint scientific publications in leading journals of Belarusian educational institutions and the organization of creative meetings and open lectures of representatives of educational institutions in an online format.

The meeting resulted in the signing of an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on cooperation in the field of education. The purpose of the Agreement is to develop long-term, constructive ties in the field of education, as well as a mechanism for organizing the annual exchange of students on a parity basis.

During the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold a meeting of rectors of universities in Belarus and Vietnam in 2024 in Minsk.

The program of the visit of the Belarusian delegation today includes visits to the Specialized School of Foreign Languages of the University of Languages and International Studies of the Vietnam National University and the Vietnam National University, as well as a meeting with the leadership of the universities that are part of the Vietnam National University and their teaching staff.
