February 1, a Forum of young voters will begin today in Minsk. Its key aim is enriching legal awareness among first time voters.
This is a very important event for youngsters and it was organized by the Ministry of Education and Central Electoral Commission.
The forum’s attendees are 105 students of general secondary and higher institutions of learning aged 18.
The program of the 2-day event is quite diverse.
This day there will be meetings of young voters with the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko and deputies. An excursion around the House of Governors is in schedule as well.
In the National Center for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth, forum participants will see the exhibition display of the Open Republican Drawing Competition “Elections through the Eyes of Children”, the Republican Exhibition-Competition of Children and Youth Creativity “PRO-Osvobozhdenie” and the works of the Republican Competition “RgoBelarus”.
The first forum day will end with a show-program “Belarus of the future. Voting together!”.
The event is not the ONE without honored guests and among them are First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Education Andrey Ivanets, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission Igor Karpenko.
Also invited to the concert program are political and public figures, Belarusian pop artists, cadets of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Military Academy, and students of higher educational institutions in Minsk.
On the second day, February 2, at the National Children's Technopark, a meeting of young people will take place with the Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets and the Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission Igor Karpenko.
During the dialogue, the main issues of electoral law as well as innovations of the current electoral campaign will be discussed, and the role of the Parliament and local Councils of Deputies in the implementation of state policy of the Republic of Belarus will be outlined.
