Minsk, 14 October – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated fellow Belarusians on the most touching and heart-warming autumn holiday – Mother's Day.
“Nature has gifted women with the unique ability to love unconditionally, sincerely and wholeheartedly, to give us inspiration and strength throughout our entire lives. A mother turns a house into a loving home, protects from trouble and mistakes, cheers up with a gentle smile and kind words, encourages us to dream big and find our best-selves,” the message reads.
Mother’s Day also marked the beginning of Parental love week. The festive week is a recognition at the state level of the most important role of the family in the development of society. Events during these days will promote parenthood and family values. For example, today the Ministry of Education is holding the final of the students' creative works competition "Mother's Anthem".
Tomorrow in Polotsk, the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly will gather participants of the large republican forum "Conversation about the important: a happy family is a strong state". The thematic meeting is dedicated to strengthening the status of the family in our society.
The week will also see a festival of family practices for pupils of preschool educational institutions and their parents titled "SUPER Family". Until October 18 inclusive, a competition of informational and educational materials on the prevention of social orphan hood and family distress, the development of family forms of placement of orphans left without parental care among educational psychologists of social and pedagogical centers of Belarus is being held.
As part of the republican information campaign "I Give My Heart to Children", the effective experience of foster parents and the importance of the work of substitute parents will be shown. Experts will talk about state support for foster families and foster parents of family-type orphanages and will consult on issues of interest if necessary.
On Mother's Day and Father's Day, prayers will be held in all churches of Belarus for the health of all mothers and fathers.
Throughout the week, couples with family experience will share their life hacks with young people. Dialogue platforms, festivals, exhibitions and other various activities are planned in every corner of our country. All this as a sign of attention and respect for those who uppbring children, educate them, raise them as citizens and true patriots of their homeland.
The Week of Parental Love will end on October 21, on Father's Day.
