Minsk, 11 December. The grand opening of the national New Year's charity event "Our Children" will take place 15 December at the Gomel Palace and Park Complex.
This year, the event will be held under the symbolic motto "Academy of Good Deeds" and will unite all regions of Belarus. The central event will be broadcast live via a teleconference with all regional centers.
The opening ceremony will be a vibrant, interactive celebration attended by over 150 delegations from across the country, as well as representatives of government agencies, public organizations, and children.
"As usual, the event will reach over 1 million children and take place in over 150 institutions from orphanages and boarding schools to rehabilitation centers and educational institutions," noted Viktor Dovnar, Head of the Main Department for Ideological, Educational Work and Youth Policy at the Ministry of Education.
This year, special attention is paid to creative and emotional interaction between the regions. Each region will present its own "magic book" – a symbol of good deeds and children's dreams. The Gomel Region will open the event with the "Book of Generosity," Minsk with the "Book of Capital Miracles," Brest with the "Encyclopedia of Heartfelt Warmth," and the Vitebsk, Grodno, and Mogilev Regions will present their unique volumes of the "Library of Kindness."
The opening ceremony will include:
– a formal welcome from government officials and the Belarusian Children's Fund;
– performances by talented children from creative groups across the country;
– the launch of the national exhibition and competition "Kaladnaya Zorka," which will run until January 14.
The "Our Children" campaign is a holiday, a large-scale social movement that, over the course of several weeks, will fill the country with kindness, care, and attention to every child.
