The Ministry of Education gave recommendations on how to conduct centralized exams in the 2022/2023 academic year, graduation exams (upon completion of studies and education on the third stage of general secondary education).

Starting from May 25 2023, educational institutions will organize consultations for the exams in accordance with the schedule, determined by the head of such institution.

Final exams upon completion of studies and education on the third stage of general secondary education might be organized in the forms of centralized exams or graduation ones.

Final exams in the form of centralized exam are conducted for the following groups of students: those, who study the educational program of a secondary education; students of a special school, a special boarding school for students with severe speech disorders, a special boarding school for students with learning difficulties, who master the content of the educational program of special education at the level of a general secondary education.

Only the following groups of students are free to choose what kind of exams they want to take, whether it be centralized exam or graduation one:

Students with hearing, vision, musculoskeletal impairments, who study specialized education content at the level of general secondary education. Students who pass final exams in the form of graduation ones must pass through inner entrance exams upon entering the institution of higher learning; those students who opt for centralized exam – must pass through centralized testing.

Students who master the content of the educational program of secondary education in special educational institutions, special medical and educational institutions, in state educational institutions (branches of state educational institutions) located on the territory of correctional institutions of the penitentiary system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, republican unitary production enterprises, subordinate to the Department for the Execution of Sentences of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, medical and labor dispensaries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, students held in custody in a pre-trial detention center and those in custody in a correctional institution.

Students of the Gymnasium-College of Arts additionally take a final elective exam in one of the academic subjects, the content of which is aimed at developing abilities in the field of certain types of art, which is held in a practical form from May 25 to May 31, 2023.

Please, note that in accordance with the Instructions on external attestation (Resolution of the Ministry of Education of August 8, 2022 No. 234), external attestation is carried out in accordance with the Decree of the Ministry of Education of July 11, 2022 No. 184 and consists of grades in academic subjects for which the external student takes exams, grades based on the results of passing final tests by the external student in individual academic subjects and grades from the certificate of study. Final tests of external students are held in two academic subjects in the form of a centralized exam, which are determined by the Decree of the Ministry of Education of August 23, 2022 No. 278.

Centralized exams are held:

In the subject "Belarusian language" or "Russian language" (at the student's choice) on the main dates May 14, 2023, reserve days May 23, 2023, other dates on the days of centralized testing on reserve days, other dates August 21, 2023;

In the subjects "Physics", "Mathematics", "Chemistry", "Biology", "Foreign Language" (English, German, Spanish, French, Chinese), "History of Belarus", "World History" (modern time), " Geography", "Social Science" (at the student's choice) on the main dates May 21, 2023, reserve days May 25, 2023, other dates on the day of centralized testing on reserve days, other dates August 23, 2023.

Final exams are held from 1 to 9 June 2023 (main dates) and from 21 to 25 August 2023 (other dates):

In the subject "Belarusian language" or "Russian language" (at the choice of the student) – students must write a presentation (4 astronomical hours are allotted);

In the form of a final exam at the choice of the student from among the following subjects:

"Mathematics" - a written test and 5 astronomical hours to complete it;

"Physics", "Chemistry", "Biology", "Foreign Language" (English, German, Spanish, French, Chinese), "History of Belarus", "World History" (recent times), "Geography", "Social Science" - on exam tickets approved by order of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus dated November 28, 2022 No. 693, which are posted on the national educational portal: For teachers / Exams / Exam tickets / 4. Tickets for final exams when mastering the content of the educational program of secondary education, the educational program of special education at the level of general secondary education.

Please note that the practical tasks that are provided by tickets are developed by teachers of the educational institution and further approved by its head (authorized person) no later than two weeks before the start of the final exams.

The schedule of final exams is compiled by the educational institution in accordance with the requirements set forth in paragraph 46 of the Rules for the certification.
