In the Duby tract of the Volozhin district on the banks of the Isloch, the republican mass sports festival "Olympia", dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the All-Union Komsomol began today. It will last three days under the slogan "I will not part with the Komsomol, I will be forever young ...".

The organizer of Olympia is the Belarusian Republican Youth Union with the support of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, the Minsk Regional Executive Committee. The youth project aims at promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people, attracting young people to active recreation and regular physical education and sports.

Among the priority tasks of the project is the provision of opportunities for successful self-realization, the disclosure of the cultural, spiritual and innovative potential of a promising youth personnel reserve.

More than 20 teams from all over the country, including representatives of the Ministry of Education, applied to participate in the festival this year. Traditionally, among the guests are teams of primary organizations of the NGO "Belarusian Republican Youth Union" of government bodies, industry committees, organizations subordinate to the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, regional and Minsk city executive committees.

By the way, every year the festival attracts new teams. Thus, the youth teams of Naftan, the Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after V.I. Kozlov, the Crane Plant, and the Skidel Sugar Plant will become newcomers to this anniversary event.

Among the guests of honor are Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Igor Lutsky, Minister of Education Andrey Ivanets, heads of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, Volozhin District Executive Committee and Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.

The leitmotif was the open dialogue “Heritage to the Future”, during which invited guests spoke. The meeting participants discussed topical issues of youth policy, told what worries young people have today, and received answers to their questions.

Opening the dialogue platform, Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets noted that the festival dedicated to such a significant day as the 105th anniversary of the All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union is a kind of bridge between generations, uniting everyone in common respect for historical experience and calling for active participation in our present.

“You, the youth of our country and the leadership of the country are proud that together we continue our path of self-awareness and respect for our national values. I am sure that the working youth of Belarus is a creative and active force of our society, capable of overcoming obstacles and making dreams come true,” Andrei Ivanets expressed his conviction.

The head of the department is sure that sports, dialogue and creativity, are not just physical activity or a hobby. These are means of self-expression, the tools for self-knowledge and ways to bring ideas and aspirations to the world.

"Olympia" offers various tests in several categories.

For example, in the nomination “Faster! Higher! Stronger!" team members will compete in tug-of-war, hiking technique, water relay race, and the “Capture of the City” sports game. In the nomination “The party said: it is necessary! The Komsomol answered: yes! Teams will have to reveal their creative abilities in competitions of business cards, author's songs "Let the songs tell us what we were ..." and cooking. In turn, experts will demonstrate their knowledge in the intellectual tournament "Our dear Komsomol, we are grateful to you for the science of living in good conscience."

Outside of the competitive program, there is a good opportunity to pass the standards of the patriotic physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense!”, to participate in mini-football and volleyball competitions.
