The exhibition is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the government administration system of education and 30th anniversary of Presidency. It was created on the initiative of the Ministry of Education and is a kind of chronicle of the history of education in Belarus. In total, more than fifty works were presented. The unique collection was collected bit by bit in the archives together with historians.
The exhibition presents the glorious history of pedagogy in Belarus, iconic personalities in the field of education as well as educational institutions and the history of the formation and development of the national education system.
The materials reveal the main achievements of the modern Belarusian education model, the main events and personal contribution of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to the creation of the state-forming industry of our country, reflecting its ideological focus.
The museum project has a historical, educational and deep human meaning. After all, it is dedicated to teachers, lecturers, mentors, educators of Belarus and is addressed to everyone who is interested in the history and development of Belarusian education and enlightenment.
At the grand opening ceremony Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets said:
“In this significant year of the 105th anniversary of government administration system of education of Belarus and the 30th anniversary of the Presidency we are making a small gift to our entire team, as well as subordinate organizations, on the eve of the nationwide holiday of November 7. And we really hope that this exhibition will be visited by our teachers, our youth, schoolchildren, and students. This is very important. Therefore, I would like to thank everyone who took an active part in the creation of this project.”
The first visitors to the exhibition learned about interesting, and in some cases new facts from the history of the development of the national education system by Olga Ershova, PhD in History and Associate Professor of BSU.
