All year round work activities of young people in spare time from school are in priority. Traditionally, the number of juvenile part-time job seekers soars in summer. Students are willing to join student teams as well.

No doubt young students want to join enterprises that realize successful-operating projects, such as on Atlant, MAZ and MTW. We can say that the guys not only gain solid practice but are making first steps into the world of prospective careers.

Belarus puts greater emphasis to young people employment in their spare time from school. In this regard, Ministry of Education serves as a common coordinator. BRSM, local government authorities and other interested cooperate with the Ministry and help to get a job.

Violetta Kravtsova, a consultant for the Youth Affairs Department of the Main Directorate for Educational Work and Youth Policy of the relevant department, said that the easiest way for a student or schoolchild to get a job is to join a student team, choosing one of seven areas of activity or contact the employment service.

“Since the beginning of the year, more than 35 thousand young people have already had a temporary employment through the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. Student teams consist of 40 thousand people. In principle, we are aiming at 90 thousand employed from January 1, 2024 to December 2024,” she added.

Many young people get information about employment options from the media and the “Youth of Belarus” platform.

In May, the work of the Ministry of Education hotline on current issues of youth employment in the summer and during the holidays proved its effectiveness. In five days, 190 requests were registered. All callers were given an explanation of the legal norms, what a shortened working day means, what kind of work minors can do, and where each young person or their parents can apply for employment.
