Modern teacher must be professional, patriot and expert in his subject
On the first Sunday of October, the Republic of Belarus celebrates Teacher's Day.
This professional holiday is designated in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of March 26, 1998 "On state holidays, public holidays and memorable dates in the Republic of Belarus".
Teacher’s Day is one of the most significant and solemn events of the year for every teacher.
Quality education in Belarus is the most important priority of social stability, the basis of economic development of society, the source of growth of the intellectual, cultural and spiritual-moral potential of the nation, and is the basis of all transformations aimed at building a strong and prosperous state.
A teacher is the main wealth of our society, its spiritual strength. The personality of a teacher, his position, worldview are of great importance both for the national education system and for the successful development of the country as a whole.
An important feature of the holiday is the opportunity to express words of gratitude to all workers in the field of education who make our world richer in knowledge and help us become better.
Warm and sincere congratulations are addressed to the entire teaching community - teachers, veterans of teaching and those who are mastering a profession that is important in the life of society. All over the country, these autumn days, festive events are held, where teachers are presented with flowers, awarded with certificates of honor and titles.
Today, at the National Center for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth of the Ministry of Education, a solemn award ceremony for the best teachers in the country was held.
Speaking to the teachers, the Minister of Education Andrey Ivanets emphasized that gathering the best teaching staff on the eve of Teacher's Day has become a good tradition to recognize their honorable work.
"Today, teachers from all over the country are here, those who work in all educational institutions. These are kindergartens, schools, colleges, universities, and also people working in additional education for children and youth and engaged in extracurricular activities. The contribution of each teacher, educator, assistant kindergarten teacher is very important to educate and train a citizen, prepare a specialist and patriot of the country," said Andrey Ivanets.
The head of the department added that every child, regardless of the locality in which he lives, should have equal access to quality education at all levels. We must take exactly the same approach in the country for children entering colleges and universities.
"This should be a fair and transparent selection, and every motivated and prepared young person should have the opportunity to receive both secondary specialized and higher education in our country," the Minister is convinced.
In the evening, a ceremonial event with a festive concert dedicated to Teacher's Day will be held at the Palace of the Republic.
