The VI international scientific and technical conference “Minsk Scientific Readings – 2023” was organized at the Belarusian State Technological University.

The organizers are the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Belarus and BSTU with the support of the Permanent Committee of the Union State, the Skolkovo Foundation, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Belneftekhim concern, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus, the State Committee for Science and Technology, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Executive Committee of the CIS and the Ministry of the Republic of Belarus, Guangdong Union for International Scientific and Technical Cooperation with the CIS Countries.

The officials received more than 320 reports from 9 countries: Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Czech Republic and Spain.

Key direction is to promote contacts and opinion exchange on integration issues in scientific-technological and educational spheres, problems of scientific-technical and economic safety, import substitution between specialists who work in the fields of science, education, industry. Motivation of young researchers in the field of generating new technologies, equipment, goods and services needs attention as well.

The thematic field of the conference is the development of a single educational space of the Union State; scientific and technical programs of the Union State, participation in the implementation of National projects of the Russian Federation and CIS countries; Other important issues for discussion include import-substituting technologies and equipment; ways to ensure economic security; IT technologies and cybersecurity; green energy; hydrogen energy, nuclear energy; new technologies for obtaining, accumulating and storing energy; secondary and renewable resources, including energy and bioresources; challenges of achieving carbon neutrality and climate change.

The large-scale event is designed for young listeners and participants. Thus, the youth section will host a competition of innovative projects of young scientists. Among the authors are 40 graduate students and more than 100 students.

According to the rector of BSTU Igor Voitov, the university is considered as a full-fledged engineering center that performs a full range of work from conducting scientific research, developing scientific, technical and design documentation to practical testing and implementation of results in real sectors of the economy.

Scientific and technical support for economic sectors allowed university scientists to annually carry out more than 500 scientific research and developments (НИ(ОКТ)Р), including over 300 under direct business agreements with the leaders of the Belarusian economy, which are part of the largest concerns and associations of the country.

Among the developments of the “Scientific and Technical Park of BSTU” are design and technological projects of unmanned aerial vehicles; additive technologies of 3D printing, production of enzymes and high-temperature ceramics, innovative grinding technologies.

Industrial ecology and environmental protection play a major role in the scientific developments of BSTU. Thus, in recent years, a number of new technologies have emerged, including the development of sewerage wastewater treatment with phosphate extraction; technologies for purification of formaldehyde-containing industrial wastewater and the use of methods for producing nitrogen-containing products suitable for use in agriculture.

Today there will be a variety of thematic sections. Among them is “Information and communication technologies as the mechanism of technological development of various sectors of the economy. Development of the digital economy"; “Innovative technologies for the production and use of new materials and substances, including additive technologies and dual-use technologies, polymer, composite and nanomaterials, nature-like technologies, mechanical engineering, electronic materials”; “Energy technologies and green energy, nuclear energy, innovative ways to conserve energy, new renewable and portable energy sources. Environmental safety and environmental protection, ensuring carbon neutrality.”

Within the framework of the conference, a round table “Development and organization of production of new types of logging, wood processing and reclamation equipment for the forestry complex of Belarus and Russia” is planned with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus, industrial machine-building enterprises and scientists.

Tomorrow there will be negotiations, working meetings, visits to specialized departments, research laboratories and centers, as well as a meeting of the organizing committee to sum up the results of the conference.
