Minsk, 28 January. Following the results of the “Youth capital of Belarus” national competition, Minsk gain the honorable title for 2026.
The title was awarded on the basis of online-voting and judgements by competition board. The board reviewed projects from participating cities on youth environment development, social infrastructure and state youth policy implementation.
The title is more than honorable award. It is the year of opportunities to demonstrate modern youth culture, to share some best modern practices in the field of social, economic and civil activities of the young generation. In 2026 Minsk is about to host national and international events for young people with all regions of our country to be represented.
The competition has been taking place each year since 2016. The very first city to be so honored was Baranovichi. Polotsk took on the baton in 2017, Mogilev in 2018, Lovely Orsha in 2019, Beautiful Pinsk in 2020, Breathtaking Grodno in 2021, Vitebsk in 2022, Young but strong Novopolotsk in 2023. The last two hosting cities were Brest and Gomel in 24 and 25 respectively.
Minsk managed to continue the kind tradition and it shows the role of the capital as center for young people from the rest of the country.
By now, there is a work to approve complex event schedule for Minsk. Solemn opening ceremony is to take place in the nearest future.
Youth capital is the opportunity for a city to demonstrate the process of making conditions for young people to make themselves and it supports their initiatives and gives possibilities to lead active social life.
