Minsk, October 17. Belarusian State University hosted a meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Education. Participants discussed the issues of implementation by institutions of projects and events of the State Program for Innovative Development of Belarus, as well as state and industry scientific and technical programs for the first nine months of this year.

Addressing the participants, Andrei Ivanets drew attention to the fact that the Head of State pays colossal attention to the development of science. Evidence of this are separate instructions of the President given at the February meeting with the National Council of Rectors. Back in February Alexander Lukashenko noted that the country has preserved scientific schools and competencies in training specialists with higher education and we protect our intellectual potential as one’s life. "Therefore, today we all have the right for a feedback from scientists, their significant developments for the real sector of the economy as well as constant results in the training of highly qualified scientific stuff," added Andrei Ivanets.

Institutions of higher learning are implementing strategies for the development of scientific, scientific-technic and innovative activities for 2021-2025. Key indicators include the implementation of exports in the field of science and research and development work for the real sector of the economy, training of highly qualified scientists, and involvement in the implementation of state scientific and technical programs.

The results of the implementation of these strategies will be reviewed at the end of 2024. At the same time, the Andrei Ivanets focused the attention of the participants: “The results are already visible. Thus, the export of services in the field of science alone (excluding the export of scientific and technical products) by organizations of the Ministry of Education for eight months of this year amounted to 116.4% of the corresponding period in 2023.
