The Republican scientific and methodological seminar for workers of secondary and high schools of the Republic of Belarus (with international participation) “Pedagogical workshop MASTER GEO - 2023” starts at BSU.

The two-day forum is dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation and is aimed at exchanging practical and theoretical experiences of teachers and scientists from different countries, as well as discussing current problems and prospects for the development of geographical education. The event will be organized in both in-person and online formats.

Teachers and students of secondary and higher education institutions of a geographical profile in Belarus and the CIS countries are invited to participate.

About 100 teachers, instructors, methodologists, researchers, schoolchildren and students from almost all Belarusian regions confirmed their participation in the meeting. These are representatives of BSU, the National Academy of Sciences, Mogilev State Regional Institute for Educational Development, Vitebsk Regional Institute for Educational Development, Minsk gymnasium No. 20.

As part of the Pedagogical Workshop, a plenary session and two thematic sections for teachers of secondary and higher schools are planned. Experts will make presentations on innovative methods of teaching geographical disciplines using information and communication technologies, integration of classical and distance learning, electronic and heuristic learning, ways to popularize geographical knowledge and implement additional education in local history, etc.

Discussion of the scientists' presentations will take place as part of a round table. A Creative Workshop for Young Geographers will take place for schoolchildren and students and kids will present their own reports and competitive works in the field of geography.

Based on the results of the seminar, a collection of scientific materials will be prepared, which will be published in the BSU Electronic Library.
