Head of the Main Department of Professional Education of the Ministry of Education Sergei Pishchev outlined the most important features of the current season.
Target figures were set as follows: 31.8 thousand students for the state-funded form of education and 16.4 thousand for the fee-paying form of education. Most of the state funded places will go to engineers, teachers, doctors and farmers. Future engineers are given 7.5 thousand budget places, teachers - 3.9 thousand, doctors - 2.9 thousand, farmers - 2.8 thousand.
— The state's priorities for the next five years are focused on supporting the real sector of the economy and regional development, — Sergei Pishchev clarifies. — The education system is adapting to important tasks, which is reflected in the admission plans every year. Applicants, including future ones, need to take this trend into account because it is long-term one.
For the first time it will be possible to schedule a visit to submit documents to university admissions committees using an online service. The registration procedure is as follows: the applicant logs into their personal account on the website of the Republican Institute for Knowledge Control, selects a convenient date and time to visit the admissions office.
This year's applicants are offered more than 10 new specialties at the intersection of several disciplines. Each one emphasizes an interdisciplinary direction. In some cases, the graduate receives a profession that allows them to be in demand in various areas of professional activity.
Natalya Zhitnikova, a consultant at the Department of Higher Education of the Main Department of Professional Education of the Ministry of Education, advised which documents need to be submitted to the admissions office.
