PINSK DISTRICT, 4 October– Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko paid a visit to the Parokhonsk secondary school during his working trip to Pinsk District, Brest Oblast on 4 October.

Upon arrival at the school, the head of state and the accompanying officials laid flowers at the Sorrow and Courage memorial sign. It was erected on the central square of the agro-town on the initiative of local residents to mark the 70th anniversary of the Victory and celebrate the defenders and liberators of Parokhonsk. The granite stone sculpture depicting the grieving face of a mother and a soldier was made by Pinsk sculptor Sergei Zhilevich.

Director of the Parokhonsk secondary school Nikolai Kolesnikovich briefed Aleksandr Lukashenko on the educational process and the implementation of the educational program of personnel training for the agro-industrial sector.

The school was opened in 1977 and was renovated in 2010 as part of the village revival and development program. The school is attended by 356 children and is fully staffed with teaching personnel.

“I am most interested in the category system at schools. We have the highest first and second qualification categories. Does this categorization that has been introduced in our schools reflect the real picture? Do we need any changes here?” Aleksandr Lukashenko asked the school director's opinion.

“I think we needn’t,” Nikolai Kolesnikovich replied.

The head of state said that he did not know whether any transformations were needed. That is why he was interested in the opinion of experts. “We need to consider this issue,” he added.

The president got familiar with the school’s educational process and infrastructure, talked to teachers and students. On behalf of the head of state, the school was given sports gear and equipment for doing gymnastics, athletics, winter sports.
