In the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the Brest oblast branch of the Belarusian Children's Fund, together with the 38th Separate Guards Air Assault Vienna Red Banner Brigade, initiated the “Letter to a Soldier” campaign.

The participants of the campaign are pupils of family-type orphanages, secondary schools and boarding schools. The guys are preparing warm and heartfelt messages addressed to conscripts. In their letters they express their attitude towards military service and thank them for the peaceful sky above our country. Young Belarusians proudly declare their readiness to serve the Motherland in the future and respect the brave and courageous defenders of the Fatherland.

All letters find their addressee. Soldiers receive them on field trips and read them in the barracks of military units.

Thus, on February 8, the “Good + Courage” project kicked-off in the Brest oblast. The first meeting took place at the Antopol special boarding school, where 90 children with special needs study. For 30 orphans, the institution has become a home, because there they live, study and spend all holidays and weekends.

The organizers of the project have prepared many surprises for the children. The paratroopers talked to the children, introduced them to modern weapons, and arranged a photo session. The children's fund brought medications, clothes from Brest entrepreneurs and personal hygiene products. The guys were waiting for the guests and prepared their letters to the soldiers, which will be handed over to our defenders of the Fatherland. The messages turned out to be warm and sincere. At the end of the meeting, young Belarusians with a difficult fate were treated to a creative gift - a performance by the VIA military orchestra “Orly nad bugom”.

On March 14, on the eve of a significant event - the 30th anniversary of the Belarusian constitution, a meeting was held with pupils of the Kobrin Children's Village. On this day, the 14-year-old residents of this friendly village were honored in a solemn atmosphere. The organizers of the thematic concert program gave the children positive emotions. The Belarusian Children's Fund prepared and presented young patriots with a certificate for an excursion within the framework of the republican project “Roads of Memory” and souvenirs with Belarusian symbols.

On March 20, children from the Malech sanatorium and secondary schools became participants in the “Good + Courage” project. The military personnel prepared an exhibition of weapons for the students, and also answered many questions about the soldiers’ service in the army and everyday life. Then the vocal and instrumental ensemble “Eagles over the Bug” showed the children their performance. According to tradition, schoolchildren, as part of the “Letter to a Soldier” campaign, prepared their letters and handed them over to military personnel. In turn, the Children's Fund donated a tennis table to the children.

It is worth noting that the “Good + Courage” project will continue during the summer holidays in summer health camps.
