Kids live and study in comfort. Minister of Education visits Children’s Village
Today the Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets and the region leadership came to congratulate the pupils of the state social and pedagogical educational institution “Children’s Town of the Leninsky District of Minsk” on the upcoming holidays.
Mr. Ivanets sincerely congratulated the students and teachers on the upcoming winter holidays, wished them health, prosperity, fulfillment of their cherished desires and gave them sweets, books about Belarus, and the institution received a certificate for improving the material and technical base.
In a warm and sincere atmosphere, a New Year’s musical and theatrical performance “New Year with Friends” was organized for the children and honored guests.
Director of the Children's Town Angela Kirakosyan said that the “Our Children” campaign is very important for children who especially believe in miracles and are full of dreams awaiting the New Year. And when guests come to them, there is an exchange of positive emotions between adults and children. Children also look forward to such meetings because they can show off their talents.
Andrei Ivanets examined the material and technical base of the educational institution, the conditions for training and education. Mr. Ivanets visited families in which pupils happily talked about their home traditions, organization of leisure activities, demonstrated the results of their educational and creative activities, and showed albums with family photographs.
The Children's Town was inaugurated in the summer of 2001. 25 employees, including parent-educators, generously share the warmth of their souls with boys and girls every day, provide social protection to orphans and children without parental care, upbringing them in favorable conditions close to family ones and contribute to the professional self-determination of their students.
Today, 70 children aged from 2 to 18 years live in the town, 11 educational groups are organized. The principle of family is observed: siblings live in the same apartment.
The children's playground is located in a building where parents-educators and children entrusted to them live in separate comfortable apartments with modern household appliances. There is a playground for the children, a gym, and a cozy landscaped area with recreation areas. Everything is the same as in ordinary Belarusian families - the pupils are provided with beautiful clothes, high-quality shoes, stationery, toys, and books.
Together with their parents-educators, the children manage the general household, purchase food, prepare it, clean the apartment, and also spend their free time from school by visiting hobby groups, sports clubs, and additional educational institutions in the region.
On weekends and holidays, as well as during vacations, parents-educators and children visit cinemas, parks, a children's railway, ice rinks, a dolphinarium, a circus, and take excursions to historical places in Belarus.
