The previous day, a meeting of the Commission on Scientific and Methodological Support for Historical Policy was held at the Faculty of History of Belarusian State University, chaired by Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets. Members of parliament, university administrators, scholars, and practicing teachers participated in the commission's work, identifying key areas for the development and planned reprinting of textbooks in the social sciences and humanities.
The implementation of the Concept for School History Education was discussed. Particular attention was paid to the new subject "History of Belarus in the Context of World History" for grades 10-11. The results of the Centralized Exam and national tests will be used as the basis for further methodological support for teachers and updating materials on the Unified Information and Educational Resource.
The manuscript of the key textbook "History of Belarusian Statehood" for universities, prepared for reprinting, was reviewed. Monitoring of the quality of teaching in this subject and professional development for teachers will also continue.
Textbooks in the social sciences and humanities lay a solid foundation for civic responsibility, patriotism, and objective knowledge of one's homeland.
