In the first days of September, the Week of institutions of additional education for children and youth took place throughout the republic. Various information and promotional events were available for students and their parents everywhere. The results of the republican traditional campaign were outlined in the Mogilev region.

Delegations from all over the country were able to study in detail the activities of institutions of additional education in the region. The guests saw the experience of Mogilev teachers in all areas of work and enjoyed bright and colorful exhibition venues, such as: Physical education and sports, environmental and biological, arts and crafts, tourism and local history, technical, artistic, theatrical, and musical interest groups.

Today, about 450 thousand people study at the level of additional education in Belarus. The system of additional education is a solid resource. Its aim is to develop children’s abilities, organize their extracurricular activities, and educate them as citizens and patriots. No need to say that this area is a priority in the work of institutions.

Nadezhda Vasilchenko, Chairman of the Republican Council for Additional Education of Children and Youth, Director of the National Center for Artistic Creativity of children and youth believes that – “Raising a child as a harmonious personality, developing his patriotic qualities should be the top priority. We should pay close attention to working with personnel. The teacher is a key figure in the educational process. If he loves children and knows his business, then any area of activity in the institution will really soar. In the council, we work hard to ensure that teachers have modern program and methodological documentation. We focus on creating methodological cases and comprehensive support for young specialists. There are many highly professional teachers in the republic and they must pass on their experience to the younger generation. Young teachers need help in their development - this is the best way to consolidate them in the system. In all local educational institutions, educational work remains primary, and creativity makes the biggest contribution. Creativity also helps to instill the right life values and sets proper life goals”.

A more detailed discussion of the main vectors of work of additional education institutions took place during the plenary session. In addition to the above-mentioned aspects, this academic year teaching staff should focus on digitalization, building an individual development trajectory for students, and fruitful interaction with schools. It means the aim is to continue to improve work in all areas in order to remain interesting and be able to satisfy all the needs of students and parents.
