Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a Decree that adjusts the Rules for the admission for higher and secondary specialized education.
The provisions of the Decree are aimed at increasing the objectivity of assessing the knowledge of applicants, streamlining the selection for targeted training, and strengthening the competitive component when the most prepared and motivated youth will attempt to become a student.
Applicants now have even more opportunities.
Among the innovations are: the registration deadlines for centralized testing underwent changes. The time period is from April 9 to April 22. The approaches for graduates of both this year and previous years have been unified so that everyone is in equal conditions. In this regard, the CE and CT are organized within the same time frame.
On May 27, the first exam will take place in the chosen subject - CE and CT. May 30 is scheduled for CE and CT in the Belarusian or Russian language and June 3 a CT - day for everyone who plans to enter universities.
Gifted and motivated guys have their own well-deserved bonuses. Thus, the opportunity to enter regional universities without entrance examinations has become available to applicants with gold or silver medals, as well as to those who have a diploma of specialized secondary or vocational education with honors. All that is required is to pass the CE for the school course.
The positive thing is that you can easily choose your desired university and specialty. But it is worth considering an important point: they will not be able to enroll in the specialty of the educational profile “Healthcare”, such specialties as “International Relations”, “International Law”, “Jurisprudence”, “Economic Law”, “Public Administration and Law”, “Oriental Studies”, and this also applies to specialties whose core test disciplines are “Creativity”, “Physical Education and Sports”.
Medalists will be able to enter the professions most in demand in the economy and the higher education institutions of Minsk. The list, after approval, will be published on the websites of the Ministry of Education and universities.
The list of specialties for admission without entrance tests and for graduates of the National Children's Technopark is expanding. The recommendations of the supervisory board of this educational institution are important and must be considered.
As for targeted applicants, a lower threshold of an average certificate score of no less than 7 is introduced for them. However, everything remains the same if they want to enroll in the most popular specialties in the economy as there are no restrictions on the minimum certificate score.
It becomes possible for applicants to enter on the basis of targeted training through a competition among individual customer organizations that provided competition for a place, if the competition for the specialty as a whole did not take place.
“This means that bona fide personnel customers will be provided with targeted graduates, regardless of how other organizations carry out career guidance work on selecting applicants for targeted training,” explains Sergei Pishchov, head of the main department of vocational education of the Ministry of Education.
According to the Decree, the Government is vested with the authority to determine lists of specialized classes and specialties that graduates of classes can enter by interview, facing no examinations. Opportunities for admission to specialized universities for graduates of specialized military-patriotic classes and military-patriotic clubs are expanding.
A number of important norms have been preserved, including:
1. Enrollment without entrance tests for the winners of regional university Olympiads and expansion of the list of specialties (it will be possible to enroll in “Robotic Systems”, “Information Systems and Technologies” and other popular specialties);
2. Accepting documents, conducting internal entrance examinations and enrolling target-oriented applicants and winners of regional university olympiads into higher education institutions in a separate stage of the admissions campaign (planned for early July after college graduates receive their diplomas);
3. Enrollment of graduates of all lyceums at universities (BSU, BNTU, VSU named after Masherov, BRU, Poles State University) without entrance examinations if they have grades of at least 9 points in specialized subjects and not below 8 points in all other academic subjects;
4. The opportunity to enter universities without entrance examinations for all categories of gifted, talented and motivated applicants.
