December 12, Andrei Ivanets met with the rector of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology Dmitry Livanov. The parties had many issues to discuss. Among those were the creation and implementation of joint educational programs, internships, research projects, personnel training, and participation in scientific conferences.

Andrei Ivanets noted that both parties need to exchange best practices and developments. “For us, cooperation with the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology is one of the key ones in the field of physics, mathematics, and engineering education. We want to adopt the experience that the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology has. We are currently working on creating an advanced educational center based on one of the leading educational institutions in order to adapt a similar model of our Russian colleagues to the realities and needs of our country and implement it,” Andrei Ivanets emphasized. But first of all, according to Andrei Ivanets, it is important to implement the initial steps that the parties agreed on earlier.

The parties have recently met in MIPT on October 24. They agreed to work out the organization of joint training of specialists in the field of artificial intelligence and other science-intensive industries. Our country is experiencing a need for highly qualified personnel in the field of biotechnology. MIPT is ready to help and is also interested in adopting Belarusian experience.

There are many opportunities for new projects based on innovative technological results. These projects concern not only physics and biotechnology, but also applied informatics. Dmitry Livanov, Rector of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, said: "We are very determined to ensure that each project meet a result that would be interesting to both parties. All our projects are designed for this purpose."

A significant increase in the dynamics of mutual contacts in a variety of areas, strengthening direct inter-university ties, as well as the implementation of planned projects in the field of education and youth policy are priority areas for the near future, where the education systems of Belarus and Russia do not compete, but complement each other in the formation of a single scientific educational space.

Today’s news is that in January 2025, Belarus is planning to hold "Nobel Lectures". Our Russian colleagues confirmed their participation. These lectures will be dedicated to scientific discoveries for which the Nobel Prize was awarded in 2023 and 2024. Anyone can attend such lectures. It is expected that the greatest interest in the event will be among both experienced and young scientists, schoolchildren, as well as those who want to learn more about science and the importance of scientists' work.

Together with partners and allies, we pay special attention to the development of gifted and talented youth. In Belarus and Russia, natural sciences continue to be popularized, and this yields results at international Olympiads, stimulating teachers to prepare national teams. It is also possible that a joint Olympiad will be held as a selection for admission to joint educational programs.
