Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research welcomed the best participants of the Republican Youth Competition of Analytical Projects for them to give their author’s presentation.

The finalists were warmly welcomed by the Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets, the leaderships of the institute and the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.

It is noted that the competition is held to find talented young people with analytical skills who love to work with a large amount of different information and know how to work efficiently. Analytical competition is aimed specifically at those who are completely immersed in a certain topic or problem, strive to prove and argue their point of view and defend their results.

The competition is a continuation of the consistent work of BISR to select and train talented youth for future employment in the public sector of economics and management, involving youth in the process of discussing the socio-political agenda. Project studies analyze global trends, the country’s economy, the emerging demands of society, and offer their vision of how Belarus should develop in different fields.

More than 130 people took part in the competition presenting in total 92 projects, of which 32 were team ones. The authors of the competition works included students and young scientists from Belarusian Institutions of Higher Education and one representative from Russia.

Among the specified subjects were education, artificial intelligence, robotics, ecology, digitalization of society, and international relations. The main and unifying criterion for the entire topic is that very “image of the future.” Maybe that’s why the most popular topics were: “Artificial intelligence and Belarus of the future”, “The future of the Belarusian education” and “Environmental challenges of our time: a fashion trend or an integral reality of the future?”

The expert commission for evaluating the competition entries included analysts from the institute for strategic research, representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, the National Children's Technopark, and the High Technology Park.

Based on the results of all stages of the competitive selection, 18 best projects won the competition. The winners received “Laureate Diploma for Participation in the Competition” and memorable gifts from organizers and partners.

25 participants were invited to work full-time in the Youth Analytical Movement “Future of Belarus”, and they will be given the opportunity in August-September to train at the “Summer School for Young Analysts”, take part in internships at the best enterprises and companies of the country.

A significant bonus for the superb 25 is the prospect of conducting research on the most relevant topics for young people with the direct support of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies.

To add, youth analytical clubs at the regional branches of BISR are currently functioning effectively, and the network of similar clubs is expanding with the support and assistance of higher education institutions.

The activities of youth associations are based on conducting research, taking into account existing methods of analytical work and further presentation of the results; meetings with representatives of government bodies, experts, scientists; training youth in analytical tools and technologies; participation in republican and regional expert platforms. Young people gain competencies that help them distinguish between information flows, follow trends, and analyze media products.

Based on the results of work in the youth analytical movement, a “portfolio of a young analyst” is formed using an electronic database, which in the future will make it possible to create a data register of promising youth who poses additional skills and competencies.

The permanent partner for the implementation of all stages of the project is the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
