Teacher's Day is one of the most respected and beloved professional holidays that is related to everyone who lives, studies and works in our country.

The work of a teacher is rightfully considered to be the most noble, constructive and creative.

On the eve of the important event, Deputy Minister of Education Ekaterina Petrutskaya emphasized the great theoretical and practical significance of the image of modern teaching, since the complication of educational tasks expands the range of work competencies of teachers and the requirements for their professional and personal characteristics.

"A teacher is a person who has not only knowledge of his subject, but also his image, moral and ethical qualities, professionalism and competence is an example to follow."- said Ekaterina Petrutskaya.

That is why image in pedagogical activity is an important component. The Ministry of Education pays serious attention to the formation of the image of a teacher in the training of teaching staff.

It is noted that image is not only dress-code and a business suit. Image is part of professional success. What exactly is the image of a teacher? First of all, it is a stable, emotionally charged one aimed at creating, maintaining and strengthening a positive public opinion about his prestige and reputation.

The structural components include individual and personal qualities, communication skills and features of professional activity and behavior.

Also – it is the teacher’s ability to see, feel, empathize and life experience plays key role as well.

The Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank implements wonderful projects aimed at creating a unique image of a future teacher.

One of such cultural and educational projects, which has been implemented for 2 years with the support of the Ministry of Education, is “Through Art to the Culture of Future Teachers”.

The idea is that students can enjoy regular visits to museums and theaters, meetings with cultural and artistic figures of the Republic of Belarus, as well as excursions to historical and memorable places of Belarus.

The project is aimed at civic-patriotic education and spiritual and moral development of student youth, the formation of a value attitude to the historical past and culture of the Belarusian people.

After all, a teacher is a multifaceted personality, being both a director and an actor in pedagogical activity. In order to conduct a high-quality and memorable lesson, a teacher needs to try on many roles and characters and the unique opportunity to do this correctly is provided by the project "Through Art to Culture of Future Teachers".

Another university-wide cultural and educational project with the active support of the Ministry of Education, the Belarusian Union of Women and the National School of Beauty is "Harmony. Style. Perfection".

The key position is that everything should be harmonious, stylish and balanced. Students have the opportunity to be bright, stylish and fashionable, to emphasize their individuality.

Within the framework of this project, such image components as external, internal and the component of procedural activity are implemented.

Of course, a teacher's appearance, makeup, hairstyle, style of speech, and manner of behavior are important. That’s why teachers from the National School of Beauty came to help.

Future teachers are introduced to a basic wardrobe, learn public speaking and stage speech.

"Thus, every teacher, being a key figure, must be an example for students, for young people, and be a harmonious personality," the Deputy Minister of Education emphasized.
