The staff of the Ministry of Education joined the "New life to forest!" campaign in the Korelichi region.
About 60 workers came to plant the forest that was damaged during the rampage of the elements in the Grodno region. “I think this is the best way for the staff to change their type of activity, working not only in their offices on the tasks that are currently facing the education system, but also doing a little physical labor in such wonderful weather. When we restore the area that was damaged during the summer hurricane, it brings double pleasure,” said Education Minister Andrei Ivanets, adding that the weather and the task have a positive effect on their mood, so the representatives of the Ministry of Education work on the allocated area with great pleasure.
The head of the ministry also drew attention to the fact that the department is constantly involved in such campaigns. “Usually we plant a forest twice a year, we go out twice for a spring and autumn subotnik. These events take place outdoors. Therefore, our hands remember everything what to do,” said Andrey Ivanets. “We always look forward with great pleasure to the time in the spring and autumn when we have the opportunity to go out and plant a forest.”
Andrey Ivanets noted that the education system is also aimed at cultivating a positive attitude towards work and ecology. “About 1.8 thousand schools have their own school plots or assigned garden plots. It is a good practice, because this is not only a part of good labor education, but also an environmental one. The child who plants a tree with his own hands, collects the harvest, he will appreciate it and is unlikely to have a bad attitude. Secondly, adults should act as a role model. Therefore, the apparatus of the Ministry of Education is working hard today. All our subordinate organizations - universities, colleges, schools participate in the “New life to forest!” campaign. Therefore, it seems to me that this is also a very good state approach to attract everyone to this good fruitful work. We will continue to move in this direction,” said Andrei Ivanets, adding that the correct attitude to the environment is also fostered on the basis of a developed network of environmental education centers.
Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubay, who was born and raised in Korelichi, shared his emotions from participating in today's campaign. “The most pleasant thing is that I was taught to plant a forest in my homeland. Today, in fact, we are implementing this skill here,” he said. “Our ministry always responds to such actions. The Head of State himself announced the start of planting a forest campaign.”
Alexander Kadlubay also emphasized the importance of joint work of specialists in the field not only in their offices for daily tasks. “It is clear that people are hardworking not only when developing a database of documents but also on the ground,” said the Deputy Minister. “We need to go to these places in 10 years and see how the forest rises. Now we have planted, and in 10 years there will be pines taller than us.” He also drew attention to the vigor of the planting process and the positive mood.
In the Novogrudok forestry, which includes the forests of the Korelichi region, 118.9 hectares were damaged after the rampage of the elements. In the Korelichi forestry - about 85 hectares damaged. Foresters plan to plant about 40 hectares of the affected areas this autumn.
