Minsk, 29 August. Following the results of the first meeting of the National School of Rectors held 25 August in Minsk, it was offered to conduct it annually prior to the academic year beginning. The format proved to be in-demand and of great interest.
The participants noted the importance of an open dialogue on key issues regarding higher learning development and told they are ready to systematic implementation of developed decisions. Following the results of the meeting a resolution was approved containing direct ways of higher education development.
Improving the quality of training specialists remains a key priority. To this end, it is necessary to expand work aimed to develop the human resources potential of universities, attract talented young people to teaching and research activities as well to strengthen career guidance, practice-oriented training and support for graduates at the stage of employment and adaptation in the workplace.
The institution of mentoring will be actively developed, and it is planned to involve leading scientists and practitioners in the educational process. It is planned to hold industry grant competitions for students and young teachers.
Emphasis on the development of university competence centers, joint laboratories, student design bureaus, business incubators and start-up projects.
The document pays special attention to ideological and educational work. Within the framework of the state youth policy, activities will be strengthened to form civic responsibility, patriotism, respect for the history, culture and traditions of Belarus. It is planned to introduce modern educational methods aimed at revealing the creative and entrepreneurial potential of students.
The comprehensive implementation of these measures is aimed at developing human capital and forming professionals responsible for their country.
