From getting to know the university to the first exam session: what "Freshman Month" is like

Published:10.09.2026

Higher education institutions are hosting "Freshman Month," a series of events designed to help new students adapt to their new academic and campus environment. This year, more than 46,000 first-year students are participating in the program.

The first week of "Freshman Month" focused on getting to know the university. Students learned about the services and opportunities available at their institutions, met with representatives from the dean's offices, and familiarized themselves with student rights and responsibilities, internal regulations, and the organization of the academic process.

The "Stress-Free Start with Self-Care" orientation week is currently drawing to a close. The program includes psychological workshops, sessions on stress management and preparation for the first exam period, as well as activities focused on student health literacy.

The coming week will be dedicated to patriotic education. First-year students will take part in the "Day of National Unity" national dictation, discussion forums marking the Day of National Unity, and thematic screenings from the "No Statute of Limitations" documentary series.

"Freshman Month" will conclude with a prevention-focused week titled "Territory of Law and Safety." Students can look forward to sessions on addiction prevention, workshops on recognizing fraud, and training on preventing bullying and cyberbullying.

"Freshman Month" helps students not only settle into their new environment but also gain knowledge that will prove useful throughout their studies.
