May 3, Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets is on a working visit to the Vitebsk oblast.

The program is very rich. Firstly, the progress of preparations for the holding at the highest level of the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, to take place on June 27-28 at venues in Vitebsk, Polotsk and Novopolotsk. Secondly is a meeting with the pedagogical community of Polotsk and Novopolotsk. Then, a dialogue platform dedicated to the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly, as well as familiarization with the material and technical base and conditions of the educational process at the Polotsk Cadet School.

The head of the department met with the staff of the Euphrosyne of Polotsk State University and the student activists. During the dialogue platform, the Minister dwelled in detail on a historical milestone in the further development of our country - the VII Belarusian People’s Congress, that was held on a large scale in Minsk on April 24-25 under the motto “Time has chosen us.”

It was noted that the first meeting of the representative body of true democracy of the Republic of Belarus was organized in a new format - the BPC received constitutional status.

1,200 delegates - representatives of public associations, political parties, the deputy corps, the executive branch, and parliamentarians discussed and approved two most important strategic documents - the updated National Security Concept and the Military Doctrine.

The documents read about what should be done for security at the levels of the state, regions and labor collectives.

“Belarus is a peace-loving country. Our society today is developing dynamically, exciting events are taking place throughout the country. Considering the events that are taking place along the perimeter of our country and on the southern borders, on the western borders, of course, we must be prepared to defend our country, our Motherland. Considering the diversity of the information field, you, young people, must first of all perceive everything through critical thinking. And we must rely not on emotions or hasty conclusions. We must understand that the security of the country depends on the consciousness of every citizen. Without it, there will be no economy, industry, culture, science, medicine and education,” said Andrei Ivanets.

In this regard, the Ministry of Education pays close attention to the issues of legal education. Thus, jointly with representatives of the Central Election Commission, constructive meetings and thematic dialogues are held with schoolchildren, students and working youth. For the second time, the Republican Olympiad on the theory and practice of the electoral process was successfully held in Belarus.

The Minister also focused on such a serious issue as discipline and personal responsibility for our progressive development and quality of life. You must be able to analyze your actions and predict the consequences of your actions.

The parties also focused on choice, life priorities, prospects for switching to electronic student records, and issues of professional development. “Because there must always be some kind of goal. Not to get a diploma, but to become a professional, a sought-after specialist and to find one’s place in life,” the head of the department is convinced.

Changes in the certification system and provision of equal opportunities for children from big cities and rural areas were also affected.

Addressing the students, Andrei Ivanets emphasized: “Student life is not only lectures, but also a rich social life, broadening one’s horizons and the beginning of a long journey.”

The event ended with answers to numerous questions from students and teachers, who asked about specialization, distribution, and targeted training.
