Final stage of the Republican Olympiad

The final stage of the Republican Olympiad is about to begin from March 27 to 31. Eighteen subjects are available for students in accordance with the Instruction on the procedure for holding Olympiads in academic subjects, approved by the Decree of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus No 73 of November 20, 2003, based on the order of the Minister of Education dated September No 583 of 22, 2023.

In accordance with applications submitted by the regional departments of education, the education committee of the Minsk city executive committees, 1508 students will take part in the final stage of the republican Olympiad. Teams representing “BSU Lyceum” will try their skills in the following subjects: “Belarusian language and literature” and “Russian language and literature”, “Math”, “Physics”, “Astronomy”, “Informatics” “Chemistry”, “Social studies”.

A special Decree determined cities to host the final stage on every subject:

History, Social studies;

Belarusian language and literature;

Bobruisk. Mogilev region

Russian language and literature;

Vitebsk

English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese;

Pinsk. Brest region

Chemistry, Biology;

Minsk

Physics, Astronomy, Labor training;

Grodno

Informatics;

Borisov. Minsk region

Geography;

Molodechno. Minsk region

Physical Education;

Slonim. Grodno region

Math.

 

Olympiads in Belarus play a huge and bright role in the system of national education. Its main tasks are to rise interest among students to the subjects, development of creative skills, gaining theoretic knowledge and practical skills and successful realization of a person. Olympiads give students and teachers an opportunity to ascend together the staircase of knowledge.

Successful performance during the Ol

ympiads require different qualities such as intellectual maturity, communication skills, developed oral and written speeches, an ability not to panic in an unfamiliar situation, rapid analysis of a new information and ability to concentrate on current tasks.
