Cold and snowy December began with the international competition “Feast of feasts” for all kids who do art based on spiritual and orthodox traditions of Slavic people. The event will end in May 2024, after six month of competition.

The focus is on popularizing traditional Orthodox values among the population of our countries; development in the younger generation of a value-based attitude towards spirituality and humanity; identifying talented young artists; increasing the mastery and creative growth of students; support for gifted children; expansion of humanitarian ties and exchange of new ideas in raising children through artistic creativity; identification and implementation of the best teaching practices.

The founders are: All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Club of Orthodox Patrons” represented by its official representatives in the Republic of Belarus; International public organization “Union of Orthodox Women” and Public Chamber of the city of Tver of the Russian Federation.

Young talents are invited to show in their creative works the significance and importance of preserving and developing the Orthodox and cultural traditions of the Slavic peoples, to reflect the richness and diversity of the architectural heritage, historical stories on biblical themes and to express a personal attitude to the Bright Feast of the Resurrection of Christ.

Among the participants in the large-scale project are students from schools, lyceums, gymnasiums, institutions of secondary and secondary specialized education, vocational and additional education for children and youth, as well as individual participants aged 7 to 16 years from countries such as: Republic of Belarus, Russian Federation, Republic of Serbia, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Armenia, Kyrgyz Republic and Republic of Uzbekistan.

The competition is organized in three age categories: 1st category – students aged 7 to 9 years; 2nd – students aged from 10 to 12 years old and 3rd category is for students aged from 13 to 16 years old.

The organizers determined the main nomination “Painting” - fine art work done in the following techniques: watercolor, gouache, acrylic.

The project is organized in 2 stages: Stage I - National (December 2023 - April 2024) and Stage II - International (April - May 2024).

As a result of the National stage, its organizers select the 10 best works to participate in the final of the International stage.

To evaluate the works of participants and determine the winners of the competition in each age category, there is a panel of international juries formed among representatives of the Orthodox clergy, specialists in the field of culture, art and education, members of creative unions, representatives of government and the public.

Competition entries are assessed by jury members based on a combination of the following criteria: relevance to the competition theme and depth; originality and figurative expressiveness of the work; performing arts; artistic and figurative solution to the competition work.

The winning works from each participating country will participate in the “Feast of feasts” exhibition at the National Memorial Complex “Church-Monument in Honor of All Saints and in Memory of the Victims Who Served to Save Our Fatherland,” to be held in May 2024.

The winners of the international competition “Feast of feasts” will be awarded diplomas, valuable gifts and books with scripts from famous people.

According to the organizers, the international nature of this project is a significant step towards the spiritual revival of the peoples of the countries participating in the competition.
