Today, in the meeting room of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the 1st International Scientific and Methodological Conference "Ensuring the quality of education: state, problems and prospects" was held.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education of Belarus, the CIS Executive Committee, the Education Quality Control Department, the National Agency for Education Quality Assurance, representatives of the ministries of education and educational institutions of Russia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and China.
The conference was organized by the Education Quality Control Department jointly with the National Agency for Education Quality Assurance under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of Belarus. For the first time at the conference, the issues of ensuring the quality of education at all its levels were discussed simultaneously, with the development of common approaches of ensuring the quality of national education.
From the Belarusian side, the pedagogical community was represented by more than 25 institutions of higher education and additional education for adults, 10 institutions of general secondary education, and two institutions of preschool education.
The plenary session was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Education - Alexander Bakhanovich. He noted that the education system and its quality is one of the main factors in the development of any country. –The high quality of education has always been one of the brands of our country. Of course, we must preserve it, because it is both social stability in society and the development of the economy, it is also highly qualified personnel who not only support those sectors of the economy that exist, but also develop new ones, contribute to the further growth, development and prosperity of our country . “The quality of education is, first of all, the training of such specialists who fully meet the needs of our sectors of the economy and the state as a whole and the social sphere. This is a whole complex of training, not only educating, but also upbringing. Because a highly qualified specialist is a kind of person that attracts other people. He concentrates labor collectives around himself and he is the driver for the development of a particular industry. Therefore, this direction is very important to develop. And by communicating at such conferences, we just contribute to the promotion and development of high quality education,” said Alexander Bakhanovich.
He noted that Belarus has always had very close cooperation with the CIS countries. “The first international scientific and methodological conference, which deals with the issues of ensuring the quality of education, is a confirmation of this. Today, representatives of Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and China are participating here. These are all our long-standing ties since Soviet times. We had one common education system, one approach, so it is very important for us to develop cooperation, communicate, exchange views, develop new solutions,” emphasized the First Deputy Minister.
Thematic areas of the conference: trends in the development of the education system; external quality assurance of education; internal quality assurance of education; methods and tools of education quality management.
The specialists discussed the directions of development of the common educational space of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the system of external quality assurance of national education; they have been informed about the quality of educational activities in the Russian Federation; and also they got acquainted with the experience of the Kyrgyz Republic on the issue of independent accreditation and learned about ensuring the quality of training in higher educational institutions (branches) in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The participants of the plenary session were presented with a collection of materials of the I International scientific and methodological conference "Ensuring the quality of education: state, problems and prospects". It should be noted that for participation in the conference, the editorial board received 136 theses in the stated areas, of which 98 abstracts of reports and speeches on ensuring the quality of education at all its levels were included in the collection of materials.
Within the framework of the conference, there have also been an open dialogue platform and project-educational intensives.
The format of the open dialogue platform provided an excellent opportunity for its participants to share the methods and forms of work used in managing the quality of education, consider modern approaches to management of the quality of education, current trends in the development of higher pedagogical education, as well as priorities in the development of the education system for people with disabilities and other important issues.
