Students from 20 universities will present their developments during the final round of the 14th Republican youth project "100 Ideas for Belarus". This was reported to the correspondent of "Nastaunitskaya Gazeta" by the Chairperson of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education Anastasia Kiselevich.
- Every year the project helps to find hundreds of talented young scientists who get a chance to present, implement and promote their idea, - said A. Kiselevich. - This year, students from twenty higher education institutions will demonstrate 51 projects in nine categories of the grand final "100 Ideas for Belarus". The largest number of developments will be presented by students from BSU (9), BNTU (6) and BSTU (5).
Among the most popular categories by the number of university developments are "Chemical Technologies, Petrochemistry" and "Agro-Industrial Technologies and Farming", seven projects, as well as "Society and Social Sphere" and "Information and Communication Technologies" - six each.
The finalist projects include not only chemical, energy, social, construction, medical, environmental, and agro-industrial developments, but also gastronomic ones. For example: "Dobry Smak" - designer candies with seaweed for healthy eating was created by Angelina Lomach, a student of the biotechnology faculty of Polesski State University. "Buckwheat Grillage: When the Healthy Meets the Delicious" is another project developed by BSUT postgraduate students Liana Shustova, Andrey Barashkov, and Tatyana Abramova.
Several projects using information and communication technologies will also be presented. Thus, BRU student Anastasia Golyas created "Gestotalk — an app for sign language translation." She is convinced that participation in the "100 Ideas for Belarus" competition is a trampoline for the young, ambitious and creative:
— This is a great opportunity to contribute to the future of the country with fresh ideas.
The Chairperson of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education drew attention to the VinSafe antivirus system of the first-year student of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics of BSU Alexander Vinokurov:
— The system uses machine learning methods to identify malicious files, prevents unauthorized access to data and protects against cyber threats, significantly increasing the level of security.
One of the most notable projects "Personal positioning control system for citizens on bed rest" by Nikita Rozenberg from VSU named after P.M. Masherov was announced in the "Society and Social Sphere" category.
— The proposed automated system is an innovation in the field of social care. Every two hours, it will remind you with a timer, sound and visual signals that it is time to change the patient's position, - said A. Kiselevich.
According to her, the finalist universities of the competition include universities subordinate not only to the education ministry, but also to other ministries: BSMU, BSUT, BGUT, BSAA, BGAS, VGAVM, BRU, the University of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus. Each of them will present from 1 to 3 projects.
For example, in the "National Security and Protection from Emergencies", cadets of the Military Academy Maria Sharipova, Yuri Nikonchuk and Ilya Dubovik will present "Experimental Complex for Counteracting Unmanned Aerial Vehicles".
- High maneuverability and stealth of UAVs pose a serious threat to infrastructure, civil aviation and public safety. Therefore, the introduction of effective counter-UAV systems is a necessary measure to ensure national security and protect civilian facilities, the Chairperson of the Council of Young Scientists is convinced.
