Today Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets visits educational institutions in Smolevichi, Minsk Region.

In the spotlight is familiarization with the material and technical base, conditions for teaching and educating students in the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 1 named after V.F. Kuprevich in Smolevichi”, meeting of the Minister of Education with teaching staff of educational institutions, heads of educational institutions of the Smolevichi region as well as participation in the “School of active citizen class” with 10-11 grader students.

The meeting of the head of the department with high school students of secondary school No. 1 named after V.F. Kuprevich Smolevichi. The conversation was about the importance of professional choice, the demand for and prestige of working specialties. The students were interested in the new rules for entrance examinations to universities, new specialties, benefits for admission, shared their impressions about participating in the trial CE.

The children also informed the Minister that they are happy to attend optional classes in academic subjects, sports clubs, associations of patriotic, tourism, environmental orientation.

On the basis of the school there is a district resource center on the traffic rules, the practical classes of which are attended by students from all over the district.

Good conditions for teaching, educating and realizing the personal abilities of highly motivated students have also been created in the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 5 in Smolevichi”.

In the pedagogical class, 10th grade students study mathematics and Russian at an advanced level. Pre-profile training is organized for 8th grade students in Belarusian and English. There are 42 optional classes in academic subjects, 10 interest associations (sports sections, fine arts, choreography, vocals, playing musical instruments, etc.).

24 students of the “Smolevichi State College” are involved into professional training of workers on two specialties: "Agricultural machinery and equipment repairman", "Green construction worker".

Among the facilities of the educational institution are language labs, conference hall with modern equipment, canteen, modern school library, gyms, choreography room, tennis hall, shooting range, stadium with volleyball and basketball courts, swimming pool.

A museum room of Smolevichi region’s patriotic glory was established in order to provide patriotic upbringing for young generation.

There is also a safety center, which provides practical classes for every resident.

The Minister met with the teaching staff and leaders of Smolevichi educational institutions and discussed with them modern approaches for organization of an educational process, upbringing of students, how to prepare and conduct the Centralized Exam, the role of a teacher in the media space. Thus, he must teach how to analyze, compare, synthesize, draw conclusions and differentiate knowledge from fake information.

Outlining the main points in the development of the education system, Andrei Ivanets said that the department pays a lot of attention to the system of preschool education.

By the way, the profession of an educator today is quite in demand in the labor market. In the nationwide bank of vacancies, there are 765 employment options for such teachers. Also the number of admissions to pedagogical specialties is increasing from the side of the Ministry. At the same time, the head of the department emphasized the need to work more actively in this direction with school graduates.

The teachers also discussed the issues of attracting young specialists, securing them in the field, as well as the activities of method rooms.

In the system of general secondary education, the Minister focused on the possibilities of pre-profile training, changes in the curriculum for Russian and Belarusian languages and literature. In grades 10-11, the number of hours for studying the subjects "Russian language", "Belarusian language" at the basic level has been increased.

Much attention is paid in educational institutions to educational potential. “The issue of education is relevant and significant in our time, since the future of our country depends on the younger generation and teachers today face an important task to form in every child all the necessary qualities that will create a stable foundation for personal development,” the Minister noted.
