Minsk, 26 September. A scientific and practical conference "Education in Belarus: Trends and Ways of Development" dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the state administration bodies of the education system of Belarus kicked off.

The conference is attended by about 300 people from all regions of Belarus, including representatives of the Ministry of Education, heads of higher education institutions, institutions of additional education for adults, pre-school and general secondary education institutions, vocational and secondary specialized education institutions, heads of departments / offices of education.

The work of the thematic event is organized at the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, the Academy of Education, the National Institute for Higher Education, the Republican Institute of Professional Education.

The conference participants discuss the directions of education development in the sections: "Pre-school education: modern trends in upbringing, training and development"; "General secondary education: innovative practices of training and upbringing"; "Vocational and secondary specialized education: current areas of improvement"; "Higher Education in the Era of Transformations: National Priorities" and "Additional Adult Education: Achievements and Prospects".

During the plenary session at BSPU, First Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Bakhanovich noted that education in the Republic of Belarus is one of the highest values of the Belarusian people.

The issues related to the form of the education system in Belarus, its development and improvement are under strict attention of the President. The head of state emphasized at the Republican Pedagogical Council: "The education sector is a state-forming industry. If today there are no educated, brought up in their own country young people, tomorrow there will be no country."

"Today it is obvious it is impossible to form development strategies at all levels of the education system in the right way if we work separately. It is necessary to act together as effective communication, cooperation, the search for joint solutions are the guarantors of success. We are ready to make every effort to ensure that Belarusian education not only meets the highest current requirements, but also anticipates the challenges that our society may face tomorrow," Alexander Bakhanovich noted.

In turn, BSPU rector Alexander Zhuk is convinced that the main figure in solving this strategic task is the teacher. The high socio-cultural significance of pedagogical education explains the close attention to the quality of professional training of teachers in our country.

Ensuring the continuity of pedagogical education is carried out in line with the main objectives of the National Strategy for the Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Belarus until 2030, as well as the Concept for the Development of Pedagogical Education in the Republic of Belarus for 2021-2025 and the Action Plan for its implementation, and it determines the main directions for improving the training of teaching staff in the country.

Among the priority areas is attracting motivated, academically successful young people to the teaching profession through the implementation of specialized training in pedagogical orientation at the third stage of general secondary education.

“For eight years, more and more educational institutions of the republic have decided to open pedagogical classes, the number of students in them is soaring. The experience of BSPU allows us to note that these are the best students,” the rector said.

The focus of the new curricula is to strengthen the practice-oriented approach, introduce teaching practice from the 1st to the 4th year, ensure the preparation of future teachers for the implementation of the principle of inclusion in education, and develop students' research competencies.

The key vector is the implementation of the research potential of continuous pedagogical education in priority areas of psychological and pedagogical research. BSPU has developed a Strategy for Scientific, Scientific-Technical and Innovative Activities of BSPU until 2025, taking into account the identified priority areas of psychological and pedagogical research in the field of education.

Improving the training of teaching staff involves strengthening the interaction of all interested parties - participants in the training of teachers and customers of personnel. Within the framework of this area, the university is carrying out solid work to expand the participation of employers in the training of teaching staff, improving educational practice through the transfer of the achievements of psychological and pedagogical science in the field of education.

“Thus, the improvement of the system of pedagogical education in the Republic of Belarus in the frames of the designated areas allows us to ensure the training of a modern teacher who will be ready to work in changing socio-cultural conditions,” concluded Alexander Zhuk.
