In the Central House of Officers of the Armed Forces, under the leadership of the Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus Igor Lutsky, a meeting of the Republican Interdepartmental Coordinating Council for Patriotic Education of the Population was held.

In the foyer of the Central House of Officers, before the meeting of the council, a thematic exhibition of military-patriotic clubs, created on the basis of educational institutions of Belarus and military units, was launched.

To date, 11 thousand students attend 755 military-patriotic interest associations in schools and gymnasiums. 4410 schoolchildren are engaged in 372 search associations created in the institutions of general secondary education of the country. 1,500 museums have been set up in schools and gymnasiums, with more than 2,000 expositions on the genocide, 209 military history museums; more than 1,500 schoolchildren attend 19 military-patriotic clubs on the territory of military units of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; 11 clubs have been created at military units subordinate to the Ministry of Defense.

In Minsk, for almost 40 years now, schoolchildren have been carrying the “Memory Watch” at the Eternal Flame. During the academic year, about 900 boys and girls of 8-11 grades take up Post No. 1. Students prepare for the honorary mission in advance, acquire combat training skills, study the history of Victory Square, visit specialized museums, military units, and universities of law enforcement agencies. This year, on April 30, the children will have an honorable mission - to represent Belarus at celebrations in the Pskov region, in the village of Idritsa, Sebezh district. This small town on the Belarusian-Russian border became the birthplace of the Banner of Victory.

Schools from the capital also showed their projects at the exhibition. For example, the guys of the 10th "A" class of the capital's school No. 93 published a Book of Memory, where they collected information about their relatives - participants in the war. Gymnasium No. 7 of Minsk presented virtual reality glasses that allow you to visit the halls of the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. Also, the students of this educational institution are developing the information resource Belaruswar.by on the history of the Second World War. There are also tests and interactive pages. This project became the winner of republican and international competitions.

The participants of the coordinating council were also presented with the first book for children about the Belarusian army, in which the authors tried to colorfully tell about the Armed Forces of Belarus. The book is interactive - by pointing a smartphone at a QR code, children can read more detailed information or watch a video about the army, a war film.

The action "One day in the life of a cadet" was presented at the exhibition by the military-technical faculty of BNTU. Every year since 2017, the university has been inviting young graduate students for a day, for whom classes are held in five specialties that are taught at the faculty. For the first two years, the action was aimed at cadets and Suvorovites, but then they began to give preference to schoolchildren.

The drawings that the guys sent to the competition for the 105th anniversary of the Armed Forces were also presented in the House of Officers.

During the meeting, the members of the coordinating council discussed the activities of search teams and clubs in practical work to study and participate in preserving the memory of the country's military-historical heritage; got acquainted with the practical activities of DOSAAF organizations in preparing young people for military service and military-patriotic education; considered the forms of cooperation between military-patriotic clubs and the youth public association “Belarusian Federation of Army Hand-to-Hand Combat and Modern Pankration”, and were also informed about the work of the national project “Belarus Remembers. We remember everyone."

According to the Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus Igor Lutsky, there should not be random people in patriotic work: “We need to pay special attention to those who come to our schools, to our children, whom we allow there. After all, the children with whom we work are those who today or tomorrow will defend our Motherland, uphold sovereignty and independence.”

In educational institutions, the positions of heads of military-patriotic education have been introduced, pre-conscription training and medical training of secondary school students are being conducted, rituals of honoring state symbols and solemn promises of cadets have been developed.

Thanks to the decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus, a network of military-patriotic clubs is developing at the military units of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Committee, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other military formations.

The practice of holding paramilitary sports and patriotic games "Zarnitsa", "Zarnichka" and "Orlenok" was also continued.

“This year this work was noted at a high level by the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. All this work is accompanied by an information and educational campaign designed to consolidate in the public mind the historical truth and the memory of the heroic past of the Belarusian people, to form the meaning of the prestige of military service and the sanctity of the duty to protect their Fatherland,” said Igor Lutsky.

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration is convinced that not only the military and law enforcement agencies should deal with military-patriotic education. All sectors have potential in this direction.

The next topic to be discussed by the coordinating council will be the preservation and promotion of family values. “Demographic security for our country is the number one issue. The upbringing of a citizen and a patriot begins with the family,” summed up Igor Lutsky.
