February 22, all educational institutions in Belarus are holding a single information hour for students in grades 8-11 as part of the educational project “School of Active Citizen.”
The topic for discussion is “My Motherland Belarus in Persons. Defenders of the Fatherland" (about employees of the Armed Forces, border service, customs service, Ministry of Emergency Situations).
Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubay met with students of the branch of the Industrial Pedagogical College of the Republican Institute of Vocational Education.
The discussion focuses on: the defense capability and ensuring the security of the country, the modern army, soldier’s valor, readiness to fulfill civic duty and fulfill constitutional obligations to defend the Fatherland, active citizenship, respect for the feat of internationalist soldiers, heroism, courage, military traditions, military duty, patriotism.
It was noted that at all times the defense of the Fatherland was, is and will be a sacred patriotic and honorable duty.
The task of guarding the independence, national interests and integrity of the country, protecting the peace and tranquility of its citizens is still relevant today. Continuing the glorious traditions of past years, the modern Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are a strong shield against any external threat, a reliable support on the path of stable development of the country. Defenders serving in various branches of the military undergo a true school of courage and patriotism.
“Military-patriotic education of young people is an important milestone in education. This academic year, the School of the Active Citizen has a demanded format - acquaintance with contemporaries, including figures of Belarusian science and culture, representatives of government bodies, the security bloc, Belarusians who have contributed to the development of education, medicine, sports, industry, agriculture of sovereign Belarus, as well as fellow countrymen, active citizens, workers who daily increase the well-being of our country. Such meetings are very important,” emphasized Alexander Kadlubay.
During the information hour, young people discussed the issue: “Why has military service at all times been a matter of honor, a school of courage and dedication?”, gave examples of valor, honor, heroism and self-sacrifice of Belarusian soldiers in the history of modern Belarus, and discussed what qualities should be possessed by a border guard, a customs specialist, an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Also on this day, the Deputy Minister of Education visited the Competence Center, which trains workers and specialists in welding technologies, and got acquainted with the material and technical base of laboratories and workshops.
Among the priority tasks of the center is the introduction of effective models and mechanisms for interaction with employers, institutions of vocational, secondary specialized and higher education, departments for labor, employment and social protection of the republic, and individuals.
The college's Advanced Welding Technology Competency Center trains newcomers on 3D simulators that simulate several types of welding, then hone their skills in all types of welding on cutting-edge welding equipment. They also master thermal cutting of sheet metal and pipes, learn to prepare metal for welding, control a robotic welding complex, and monitor the quality of welded joints.
Currently, the branch of the IPС UO RIPO operates according to updated curricula and programs, and the list of specialties to train specialists has been expanded. The main goal of the teaching staff of the branch of the IPС UO RIPO is to prepare a competitive specialist, improve the educational process, teaching technologies, and teaching methods.
