Today Lida hosts a very important event for school graduates – “Last Bell”. This event is a traditional one and in recent years took place in Orsha, Bobruisk and Molodechno.

This year’s participants are more than one thousand and a half 11^th grade students from the capital, Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Mogilev and Minsk regions.

Among the best of the best are the winners of international and republican olympiads, competitions, participants in school creative programs, republican and international festivals and competitions, the best athletes, prize-winners of republican and international championships, tournaments, contests and competitions.

Among the main festive events in Lida are a flower-laying ceremony at the Mound of Immortality, a festive procession of participants in the Republican holiday "Last Bell" along the route of the Mound of Immortality - Lida Castle, a solemn line and awarding the best graduates of the Republic of Belarus in 2023 in Lida Castle - a unique architectural monument of Belarus.

The main slogan of the holiday of talented and purposeful youth is "Creation for the sake of the future".

Symbolic in the Year of Peace and Creation was the laying of flowers at the Mound of Immortality - a symbol of the greatness of the winners and the memory of the heroes - soldiers and partisans who died in July 1944 during the liberation of Lida and its region from Nazi invaders.

The guests of honor jointly with young people, paid tribute and honored with a minute of silence the fallen heroes and civilians of the city, who defended their land, freedom and independence.

After the laying ceremony, all the participants of the Republican holiday went in a festive procession to the solemn line to the Lida Castle.

Speaking to the participants of the celebration, Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets noted: “Today, standing on the threshold of adulthood, it is important to know the history of your country, the historical truth about its development and remember those who won the Great Patriotic War, who gave their lives for your happy life. It is more important than ever to understand what kind of genocide the Belarusian people were subjected to during the war years and remember this in order to never let it happen again. Be proud of your Motherland, honor traditions. This is what unites the nation and strengthens the spiritual connection of generations.”

The head of the department also emphasized that everything necessary is already done in our country for people to reveal their talents and abilities, get a good education and favorite profession, start a family and feel truly happy.

The key components of success are to believe in yourself, set ambitious goals for yourself and persistently achieve what you want.

At the same time, the Minister of Education gave words of encouragement to the graduates: “And in a few years, having achieved even greater success, do not forget about those who every day, step by step, patiently shaped your personality, your uniqueness, developed your talents, educating you as a citizen and patriot.”

During the ceremony, talented students in studies, sports, creativity and science received awards in the nominations "Leader - 2023", "Intelligence - 2023", "Talent - 2023", "Champion - 2023".

Alumni's achievements would not have been possible without their teachers. For high professional skills, significant personal contribution to the education of young students, active citizenship, the gratitude of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus was declared to the best teachers of the country.

After the awarding, the work of thematic areas in the building and on the territory of the Ice Arena started. Up next is a concerto, a discoteque and fireworks.
