Every year the state allocates considerable funds for the preparation and organization of the children's summer health campaign. The funds are aimed at reducing the cost of vouchers, purchasing free vouchers for privileged categories of children and providing assistance in preparing camps for the summer period.

The most important requirement is strict compliance with the rules of safe and responsible behavior of all those involved in organizing children's recreation, ensuring safe conditions in places of rest and health improvement for children.

Tatyana Osmolovskaya, Consultant of the Main Directorate of Educational Work and Youth Policy of the Ministry of Education reported that according to preliminary information as of August 30, during the summer health campaign, about 398.2 thousand students stayed in 6,383 health (sports and health) camps, including: in 4,859 camps with day stay - 229.5 thousand children; in 1,524 camps with round-the-clock stay - 168.7 thousand children.

Increased attention is paid to the organization of health improvement for orphans and children left without parental care, and disabled children. Thus, during two summer shifts, 11.6 thousand orphans and children left without parental care and 5.7 thousand disabled children underwent health improvement.

The theme of the health shifts was aimed at forming traditional values of the Belarusian people, respect for the historical past and achievements of the country at the present stage, popularization of state symbols of the Republic of Belarus. Thematic events dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus took place in all health camps.

It is worth noting that Belarusian schoolchildren always spend their holidays usefully. The state program "Labor Market and Employment Promotion" for 2021-2025, within the framework of temporary employment of student youth in June-August 2024, helped 33.5 thousand to get a job.

There were 1098 labor and recreation camps, in which more than 15.1 thousand students worked and rested. More than 20 thousand labor campaigns took place in all regions, in which 480 thousand people took part, including more than 220 thousand students of health camps.

Military-patriotic camps welcomed their guests as well. In total 25215 kids recreated and 744 camps received their visitors.

“The issues of organizing and conducting the summer health campaign were under constant control of the Ministry of Education and regional education authorities, interdepartmental control was ensured jointly with the regional departments of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, and other responsible structures,” concluded Tatyana Osmolovskaya.
