Winter holiday starts soon and it is the right time for activities, recreation, rest and creative development. In winter pupils can make the most of holiday from December 24 to January 7 as every oblast, every region will host performances in honor of the New Year.
Heads of republican government bodies, local executive and administrative bodies visit children's boarding institutions and family-type homes, hospitals, guardianship and foster families. They congratulate children on the upcoming New Year and present gifts, as well as provide assistance in solving existing problems. Student youth, public associations and other organizations are joining the charity event.
Among the brightest festive events is a traditional New Year ball to take place on December 27 in the Palace of Independence and it will unite 350 representatives of young students from all regions of the country.
Every time on the eve of the New Year, as a Brest Lamplighter the Palace of the Republic lights up its shining lamps. This year the fairy-tale is “New Year time machine” and it is open to the public from December 23 to January 4.
Almost 25 hundred children aged 8-14 years who came from different social environments as well as winners of various competitions were invited to the Glavnaya elka strany (Main Christmas tree).
Tatyana Osmolovskaya, consultant of the Department of Social, Educational and Ideological Work, announced today at a press conference at the National Press Center that educational institutions are actively immersed in the New Year's atmosphere. The premises and grounds are festively decorated, and a wide range of events in different directions are planned. We are talking not only about New Year's entertainment, matinees, and various entertainment programs but excursion trips as well. Children will attend cultural and entertainment events. Much attention is paid to cultural and sports events so that schoolchildren’s leisure time is not only interesting, but also useful.
During the winter holidays, it is planned to provide health improvement to more than 66 thousand children. Day health camps at schools will operate for at least six days, and camps with 24-hour stays will operate for at least nine days. At the same time, the day camps will provide the safest environment possible.
It was noted that each educational institution will take into account the characteristics of its region when organizing the health and recreation of children.
Associations of interests, master-classes, sections, clubs, leisure rooms, offices of children's and youth organizations, and libraries will continue to work.
To add, institutions of additional education for children and youth provide not only employment for children in associations of interests, but also are an active platform for the civic and patriotic education of students for the implementation of various socially significant events and creative projects.
During the winter holidays, additional education institutions will organize work with students to get acquainted with the history of their native land (during competitions, virtual trips through the pages of history), biography of famous fellow countrymen and outstanding personalities who have made an invaluable contribution to the development of the country (during theme evenings, concert programs, theatrical representation).
