Children's recreation system in Belarus. Availability, quality, innovations
Belarus maintains 100% state support for children's recreation. Every schoolchild aged 6 to 18 is entitled to a subsidy: the state reimburses up to 40% of the cost of a trip to a country camp and over 70% of the cost of a trip to a day camp. Camps are completely free for large families, low-income families, orphans, and children with disabilities.
Every year, approximately 400,000 children vacation in camps of all types.
Delegations from Russia, China, Syria, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and other countries are studying the Belarusian experience of "smart holidays." The Zubrenok National Children's Center is recognized as the flagship of this methodological approach.
The camps successfully implement IT shifts, linguistic, scientific and technical, and military-patriotic programs. The educational load is 2-4 hours per day, allowing for a combination of high-quality education and meaningful recreation.
In recent years, shifts have been added on robotics, media and blogging, financial literacy, and the green economy. Children work with modern equipment, master digital skills, and more.
Educational psychologists note that by the middle of the first week, children have fully adapted to life without phones, actively engaging in the group's activities and interacting with their peers.
