The significance of New Year's charity events taking place en masse throughout the country is high. The tradition of holding them is very important for all of us, because they affect a sincere and attentive attitude towards children, the elderly, and all segments of the population. This is why charity is supported at the highest government level.

The Republican charity event “Unions for Children” has also become a real gift for the country’s young citizens, giving boys and girls joy, smiles and New Year’s mood.

Union leaders, jointly with the organizational structures of the Profkom, purchase sweet gifts and souvenirs for children, tickets to New Year's holiday performances, organize excursion trips, and provide financial assistance to children's social shelters, boarding schools and family-type homes.

Today 500 children of preschool and primary school age, children from large families, family-type homes and those left without parental care came to the Republican Palace of Culture of Work Unions from all over Belarus to take part in the New Year’s performance “Frosty Adventures”.

This year, the festive event at the New Year's tree was organized for the first time by the Belarusian WorkUnion of Education and Science Workers. First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Bakhanovich and Chairman of the Belarusian Work Union of Education and Science Workers Tatyana Yakubovich came to congratulate the children on the upcoming winter holidays and give New Year gifts.

Welcoming the children, Alexander Bakhanovich emphasized that the state’s priority are issues of social and youth policy: “Children are our golden treasure, into which we invest all our skills and knowledge. New Year and Christmas are a wonderful, magical and fabulous time. And we want to give children our attention, care, warmth and love in the hope that they will carry moral values through the years and embody them in their families as adults. Youngsters will rule the country tomorrow and continue our work.” – said Mr. Bakhanovich.

The guest of honor also noted that the Ministry of Education as well as teachers and educators are always close to young citizens. Every day they not only provide deep knowledge, but also teach children to think critically, make independent and responsible decisions, carefully preserve and honor Belarusian history, culture, traditions and they instill in students the best human qualities.

The First Deputy Minister of Education wished all children, teenagers and young people of Belarus peace, kindness, tranquility, fulfillment of their dreams, the opportunity to create, make, reveal their talents, and give people beauty.

Before the festive New Year's performance, boys and girls eagerly took pictures near the forest beauty, near bright and fabulous photo zones, and visited the face painting area.
