March 5, 2024, The National Center of Admission with the support of the Main Directorate of Educational Work and Youth Policy of the Ministry of Education organized the III Republican practical conference “Child-parent relations: priorities, expectations, values” for educational psychologists of the special educational center.

The event welcomed more than 90 specialists from regional special education centers and regional educational development institutes who actively partook as speakers.

The first to take the floor was director of the center Tatiana Belevich. She outlined the thematic relevance of the conference.

No less significant was the speech of the Deputy Head of the Department of Social, Educational and Ideological Work of the Main Directorate of Educational Work and Youth Policy of the Ministry of Education Elena Simakova. She focused on the key aspects of education in foster families. It is noted that for good development and personality formation, a child needs to be surrounded by people who not only care about him, but also love him, accept him as a person, and people with whom he lives the same life and shares the same hobbies. A small child really needs a mother or a person who completely replaces her. The mental needs of children of any age are best met by a good family environment.

The family not only provides the child with best opportunities for personality formation, but it also naturally introduces him to ever-expanding social relationships and prepares him for an independent life. A child placed in a foster family becomes an active participant in the family experience through interaction with family members, mutual influence, communication with representatives of different generations and relatives. Children have a positive experience of family life, and they will subsequently be able to become good parents and role models themselves.

The deputy head of the prevention department of the law enforcement and prevention department of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Dmitry Meleshko, spoke about the features of juvenile delinquency and prevention measures in modern society.

In her turn, Marina Sosnina, a teacher-psychologist at the SOS Children's Village of Borovlyany, shared her experience on how to stop bullying at school. It is indicated that the topic is quite relevant since bullying cannot be stopped by one person. The team support is the key, and the influence must come from adults. The conflict situation cannot be hushed up.

Lyudmila Lositskaya, an educational psychologist and safety trainer for the “Safe kids” project, certified according to the methods of the international safety school “Stop the Threat”, spoke in detail about how to solve Internet security problems with students.

Such an important area as working with families and instilling traditional family values did not go unnoticed. It was this issue that Veronica Serdyuk, Chairman of the Board of the NGO “Family and Motherhood Support Center “Matulya”, an employee of the Synodal Department for Family, Protection of Motherhood and Childhood of the Belarusian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, focused on in their speeches.

It is noted that a happy family is one of the priority areas of socio-economic development of Belarus. It includes strengthening traditional family values, physical and spiritual well-being, and education of youth.

The speaker is confident that motherhood and parenthood follow the development of society itself. Education is preparation for future adult life, and mastering the rules accepted in society.

Veronica Serdyuk is convinced that by uniting state, public and religious organizations, we can do a lot for both the family and the country. The family is the stronghold and strength of the state, preserving the traditions of centuries. And only in a family is it possible to raise and educate healthy and socially active citizens.
