Catherine Petrutskaya: “Internet can’t serve as the educator; we must take the responsibility ourselves”
Mogilev, 3 April. Mogilev meat-processing plant served as a dialogue platform between Deputy Education Minister Catherine Petrutskaya and parents. Deputy Minister came with “Parent NOT meetings” national project to discuss information security of new generation of kids and parents.
During her conversation she noted:
“As all participants have said kids are of most importance. That is why we gathered today to discuss current issue for kids, teachers and parents of bulling, drug consumption and spread, suicide. We’ve got many global issues to discuss but the most important is that they lock themselves in the internet with their problems. And each of us is to understand that internet can’t serve as the educator, we must take the responsibility ourselves.
The project will soon arrive to industrial enterprises, education departments and institutions of learning in Grodno, Brest, Gomel oblasts and in Minsk. Speakers call parents to think how much time they spend with kids and how much they surf the web.
