The first Belarusian-Uzbek women's business forum continues today. It started yesterday in Minsk. Today, six sessions are planned. The participants will discuss industry, medicine, education, science, tourism and much more.
On the grounds of the National Children's Technopark, section No. 5 is working on the topic "Implementation of partnerships in the field of science and education." The section welcomes representatives of the Ministry of Education, the State Committee for Science and Technology, the State Committee for Standardization, youth parliamentarians, the Belarusian Union of Women and representatives of higher educational institutions - rectors of universities in Belarus and Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek delegation, jointly with the Belarusian side, studied the activities of the National Children's Technopark and the scientific projects of students, visited a thematic exhibition and educational laboratories.
Irina Starovoitova, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development, said that Belarus and Uzbekistan have great prospects for cooperation:
– Today, we will discuss the most important topics and areas of cooperation in the field of science and education. We demonstrated our capabilities to the Uzbek delegation. Indeed, the National Children's Technopark has prospects for the development of our country and on the other hand opportunities for cooperation and joint work in certain areas. We discussed this with our colleagues, and they are interested in further cooperation. I think that the forum is a good start for productive collaboration.
Irina Starovoitova clarified that a number of scientific projects are already in action between the countries in various areas of the scientific and technical sphere:
- This is the agricultural industry, nanotechnology, medicine. I think that the activation of such scientific projects is another step in cooperation in the field of sciences. It is very important for us that such joint scientific activity consolidates the scientific community of our countries, provides opportunities for the emergence of new innovative developments and discoveries with their further implementation in the production of our countries. In the education system over the past four years, the number of citizens of Uzbekistan studying in higher educational institutions of our country has increased significantly. We have a direction of study with the issuance of double-degree diplomas at the level of bachelor's and master's degrees. I think that in the future it is possible to open new specialties that would be of interest to our countries. We also see prospects not only for cooperation in higher education, but also in the system of additional education for children and youth.
Another important direction in the development of Belarusian-Uzbek relations is youth policy, Irina Starovoitova noted:
– As our President said, during these decades we have not only preserved the historical connection and memory, but have managed to expand the number of joint projects, which affect the economy of our countries and the well-being of our peoples. In the upbringing of young people, we see the need to preserve our historical memory and education on the ground of not only a common history, but also the self-consciousness of our peoples.
During the section, the participants reviewed the experience of implementing partnerships in the field of science and education and the prospects for cooperation.
After the tour, the Uzbek delegation had only the most positive emotions, said Matyokub Bakoev, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Academic Director of the Tashkent branch of MGIMO.
According to the results of the section, Belarus and Uzbekistan signed a number of agreements on cooperation in the field of science and education.
