Belarus votes for Student of the year – 2023
Bright, fascinating, colorful and joyful this is a tiny sequence of words one can use to describe the grand final of the republican competition “Student of the year – 2023”. The coveted grand final will take place on stage of the Minsk city palace of culture. Its motto is “Way to transformation” which means finding one’s inner potential and a process of formation of a personality of the finalists.
The grandiose student event will bring together eighteen of the country's best students from Baranovochi State University, Brest State Technic University, Polessky State University, Vitebsk State Technical University, Gomel State Medical University, Pavel Sukhoi Gomel State Technic University, Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Arkadiy Kuleshov Mogilev State University, Belarusian State University of Transport, Belarusian State University, Belarusian National Technic University, Belarusian State University of Economics, Belarusian State Medical University, MITSO and two students each from VSU named after. P.M. Masherov and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The competitors are future engineers, economists, financiers, doctors, lawyers, law enforcement officers, specialists in the humanities and tourism business.
This number of participants is the highest ever throughout the history of the event which started in 2011.
Every participant has already proved that he is the best not only in studies but in various fields from sports to university clubs. Student of the year is a competition so the one to outdo the others wins the title.
Yesterday there was an oratory contest held on the first day because the One must have a good general knowledge. That’s why there was an additional contest in oratory held in Minsk city palace of culture and it had oratory skills contest and project defense. This year’s subject is “Project with prospects of realization on republican and international levels. The researches must be a strong mean of communication not only an expression of personal worries.
The jury panel consisted of invited experts in the field of media and communications and they were quite just in their decisions.
And tonight is the night. During the final student show, all shapes of skill and talent will be revealed in the “Business Card Competition.” In it, absolutely every participant will imagine themselves in different artistic interpretations. On stage, the finalists will “walk” through a clock of endless time, play a chess game from life, dance a waltz and even perform a solo part in a musical. In the Creative Competition, finalists will transform their inner changes into works of art that touch on the depths of cultural transformation. Spectators can expect a lot of social performances and humor.
To continue a strong tradition there will also be creative performances filled with a sense of patriotism, pride for our country and for the exploits of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers during the Great Patriotic War. The most awaited part of the evening is the awards ceremony.
According to the tradition, each finalist can claim victory in the additional category “ONLINE Student of the Year”. You can cast your vote for the favorite in the official accounts of the BRSM Central Committee on the social network VKontakte (poll), Instagram (“studproekt” (comment below the interview) and the BRSM messenger: live on Telegram (poll). The points (votes) collected in all social networks will be add up.
Voting will end on the day of the final show, i.e. today December 14 at 13.00.
The organizer of the republican competition is the Belarusian Republican Youth Union with the support of the Ministry of Education, public and private structures, public and creative organizations.
The competition is aimed at developing leadership qualities, supporting the creative potential of student youth, creating conditions for their self-realization in the field of social activities, science, art and sports, promoting student initiatives and projects, increasing the prestige of knowledge and popularizing professions.
This season, the competition took place in four rounds - university, regional, qualifying, republican finals and united 247 applicants for the title “Student of the Year - 2023” from 42 institutions of higher education.
