This was announced recently in Urumqi following the eighth meeting of the Sub-Commission on Cooperation in Education of the China-Belarus Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee. It was attended by the Minister of Education of Belarus Andrei Ivanets, as well as the heads of our educational institutions. The meeting discussed cooperation in the field of higher, professional, digital education as well as teaching Belarusian and Chinese.
In his address, Andrei Ivanets noted:
“The structure of the comprehensive strategic partnership determined by the leaders of our states makes a solid foundation for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of education. We consider the work of our Commission as an important tool for coordinating interaction in priority areas of humanitarian cooperation aimed at developing the process of training professional personnel based on advanced methods and technologies, youth exchanges, and expansion of public diplomacy. Without cooperation in education, it is difficult to imagine the development of full-fledged joint work in the economy, politics, and other areas of interaction. Our cooperation is developing systematically and dynamically, its result is the implementation of large-scale joint educational and scientific projects and programs in a wide range of areas.”
Belarus and China are consistently implementing all their plans. Thus, the day before, with the participation of representatives of BSU, MSLU and Beijing Foreign Languages University, the grand opening of the China-Belarus Center for Humanitarian Exchanges took place. Its founding is included in the cooperation plan between the Governments of Belarus and China within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative and the national strategy for sustainable socio-economic development of our country.
An agreement on cooperation was also signed between RIPO and the Center for the Development of Professional Education of the Ministry of Education of China.
A number of events and negotiations are expected during the visit of the Belarusian delegation to the PRC. Achievements, initiatives and further cooperation in the implementation of joint educational and scientific-technical projects and programs are planned to be discussed at the ninth Meeting of the Ministers of Education of the SCO Member States.
Andrei Ivanets held meetings with the heads of delegations. Negotiations with the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov concerned participation in the forum of engineering universities in Belarus and the ProfSkills Belarus 2025 competition as well as future establishment of resource centers for vocational education in Uzbekistan and inter-university cooperation in submitting applications for joint competitions of scientific projects. Colleagues from Uzbekistan thanked RIPO for the training of their teachers. The parties emphasized the importance of these areas in the framework of the implementation of the agreements of the Presidents of the two countries.
They further reviewed the activities of the Belarusian-Uzbek Intersectoral Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications in Tashkent, established by joint work of BNTU and TashSTU. According to the Minister of Education of Belarus Andrei Ivanets, the institute is an example of friendly cooperation in the training of highly qualified engineering and technical personnel who are capable of solving the problems of the scientific and production sphere of industry. The creation of a competence center at the institute can strengthen cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan in vocational education by improving the qualifications of employees and implementing educational programs.
Then, Andrei Ivanets met with the Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Andrei Korneev. They discussed preparations for a joint board meeting in Sochi in the fall, interaction in special education and youth policy, development of content and educational publications, participation in the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Nizhny Novgorod.
