A Mongolian government delegation is on official visit to Belarus. A busy program has been prepared for the delegation. Its schedule contains visiting the flagships of Belarusian industry, line ministries and organizations, and agricultural enterprises.
Today, the Ministry of Education hosted a meeting between the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia, Mr. Ganbold Ganbayar.
During the meeting, participants noted the interest in developing bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Mongolia in the field of education, science and youth policy.
Mr. Ivanets indicated that the legal framework established in Belarus and the existing potential make it possible to develop interaction in various areas of activity, including the implementation of joint projects.
Interaction in the field of education between our countries is carried out within the framework of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of Mongolia on cooperation in the field of education of September 4, 2013.
Currently, direct cooperation between institutions of higher education of the Republic of Belarus and Mongolia is carried out within the framework of 11 inter-university agreements.
In a constructive conversation, the head of the Belarusian department expressed his opinion on the need on the Mongolian side to speed up the process of implementing joint educational programs. Upon completion of them students will receive double diplomas, since 11 Belarusian universities have already begun working on this area.
“Today, 40 students from Mongolia study in our country. I am sure that this is far from the full potential that our countries have tapped into. We are ready to offer to organize Russian language training for foreign citizens and take preparatory courses at our universities. Moreover, we are ready to organize training in English. It is also possible to organize training in a distance format,” noted Andrey Ivanets.
An important aspect is the training of working specialties. Belarus can assist in the establishment of competence centers in the field of agriculture and also in other areas in Mongolia. There are 52 competence centers operating effectively in our country.
In this regard, it is indicated that the Republican Institute of Vocational Education is ready to provide consulting support in the development of training programs in competency centers and the organization of internships and advanced training for teaching staff on the basis of RIPO, as well as to organize internships and advanced training in working specialties of Mongolian citizens in RIPO across a wide range list of areas of interest to the Mongolian economy.
Mr. Ivanets focused separately on scholarships for training in specialties in demand for the national economy, which have been allocated to Mongolian citizens for several years, emphasizing: “We are further ready to meet halfway within the framework of grant support for training personnel for the Mongolian economy.”
The Belarusian side also noted its readiness to interact in the field of science. Currently, VSMU, BSU, BNTU and BSUIR are implementing scientific projects with institutions of learning in Mongolia. A number of other universities have interest in the following areas: information and computer technologies; physics and radiophysics; chemistry and chemical technologies; ecology; biotechnology; medicine, pharmacy; agro-industrial and food technologies; social and human sciences.
Also during the meeting, information was voiced that currently the volunteer movement is one of the most popular topics among young people. In this regard, Belarus is ready to assist in the training of volunteer specialists.
“I am confident that our bilateral agreements will receive a new impetus for cooperation,” summed up Andrei Ivanets.
The Mongolian side expressed full interest in implementing joint projects.
“We need to further develop interaction between our universities. We are ready to consider and resolve any proposals in terms of cooperation. An important issue is to increase the number of our students to study in your country. Moreover, yesterday I talked with students from Mongolia, they said that they really like studying with you,” said the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia, Mr. Ganbold Ganbayar.
