Published: 03.06.2024

A delegation of the Belarusian Ministry of Education is on official visit to Mongolia. It began the day before with a visit to the forge of teaching staff - the Mongolian National University of Education.

Andrei Ivanets and the chancellor of the Mongolian university Batbaatar Jamiansuren discussed the interaction between specialized universities in accordance with the agreements of the Ministries of both countries. First of all, the parties discussed training teaching staff in natural sciences. Andrei Ivanets emphasized that enormous attention is paid to that issue in Belarus. He further confirmed his readiness to share his accumulated experience in all areas of interest to the Mongolian side, for example, the organization of pedagogical classes.

At a meeting with the Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia Enkh-Amgalan Luvsantseren, agreements were reached to intensify cooperation in training professional personnel for pedagogy and science. The parties also discussed the participation of Belarusian universities in short-term educational programs.

In addition, we are ready to share our experience in developing a network of engineering classes at the National Children's Technology Park. The creation of joint educational structures and advanced engineering schools is planned as well. The mechanisms for implementing the promising direction were considered by the rector of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Irina Kiturko and the head of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology Baataryn Ochirbat. Following the meeting the day before, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the two universities.

Today an Agreement has already been signed between the Governments of Belarus and Mongolia on the mutual recognition of educational documents, as well as a cooperation roadmap between the relevant ministries of both countries for 2024-2026. Significant documents will allow us to reach a new level of bilateral relations.

Currently, direct interaction between universities in Belarus and Mongolia is implemented within the framework of 12 interuniversity agreements. The legal framework and potential contribute to the successful development of relations.

For several years, Mongolian citizens have been provided with scholarships for training in specialties that are in demand for the national economy. Now, thanks to those scholarships, 33 Mongols are studying at the level of higher and vocational education.

Cooperation in the field of vocational education is no less prospective. Belarus has solid experience in creating competence centers. Our country proposes to organize training of highly qualified workers among Mongolian citizens in domestic educational institutions in the following fields: engineering and technology, architecture and construction, agriculture and forestry. We are also ready to help with organizing internship programs for students and teachers from Mongolia in applied qualifications at competency centers and other national sites. We’ve already succeeded in that. In March of this year, a group of managers and specialists from the Нүүдэлчин-Агро ферм ХХК was trained at BSATU via the advanced training program “Innovative technologies in livestock and feed production.”

Another important area is the development of academic mobility of students and teachers, and this article is in the Roadmap.

In addition, Belarusian educational institutions are ready to organize training in the preparatory department for foreign students (studying English/Russian language, biology, chemistry and physics) in English or Russian language. A distance-learning format with a course of completing the program over a period of eight to ten months is possible. At the same time, professional personnel will be trained for specific enterprises.

Tomorrow, representatives of the Belarusian education system will visit the Mongolian Polytechnic College in Nailakh, where they will also exchange experiences and outline long-term plans.
